70 Dinner stop. Small and busy. We got in by luck basically. They have a bottle list on the wall that is hopelessly out of date, and one on the menu that is a bit closer, but they were 3 out of 6 for my selections. Cantillon on the menu, but don't count on that. They were even out of Orval(!) Standard Belgian fare for the most part. Food was decent, not great. Not sure why this has the reviews it does. I will say the service was solid. |

78 A not-so-small typical Belgian place located close to Matongé. Taras Boulba + 3 more on tap, and a fairly large range of Belgian standards in the bottle for decent prices. Food is tasty, service is nice. A classic Belgian resto done the right way - c'est sympa! |
76 Good restaurant with excellent food and a long list of Belgian beers. I found the information about the beers to be somewhat lacking, both in terms of how the menu was organized and how much the staff could say about the different ones -- but enjoyed myself thoroughly and will come back. |
82 Loved this place!! One of those typical Brussels small resto’s where you can enjoy some decent well cooked food and sip a good beer! Service was very easy going and friendly. Selection of the beers was not overly impressive, but with some Belgian micro’s and some lambics (Cantillon) on the menu, there’s no reason to complain. Most certainly not when you can drink an Orval at 3.6 euro.
The girlfriend and I had the burger, which was really decent, some fresh vegetables to go with it and some home-made fries! Overal a very cool place! Will go back! |
72 A nice little restaurant that is worth the effort to find. A good bottle selection.and a nice typical belgian menu to match. I was pleasently surprised by the prices. The service was quick if not friendly, but it was very busy so it would not stop me going back. They do seem to take reservations which I would recommend if you have a larger group. |
76 Back-alley restaurant with nice atmosphere, very good food at reasonable prices, and a beer list with real quality to augment the usual suspects. This place recently got some press in the NYT, and before that the Economist, so no harm in sharing the secret here. It’s just a few doors down from Audrey Hepburn’s birthplace. It’s a small place, so reservations highly recommended. (update: I don’t think they take reservations anymore.. Also, prices have gone up a tick, but still good value for Brussels. And hey, Taras Boulba on draft) |
