“Huge brewery with a lot of space and spaces. A must visit when in the area. Very solid beers with a few outstanding ones. This is an eye-catching fun place with a lot going on and a place where you can get into all sorts of conversations and make new friends. I love taking pictures of breweries and posting them on IG...a lot of great angles, lighting, and opportunities here. This is a great place to come with a larger group of friends...something for everyone here...but if you come alone like I did...and are the least bit outgoing...you'll have a great time.“

“Visited after work on a Wednesday. Easy enough to find in a warehouse light industrial type area. Minimal parking out front, though seemed like surrounding lots were fair game. Big modern looking functional building from the outside, inside is more welcoming, with an open tasting room a decent sized bar, tables and plenty of space to stand around. There are no windows, so despite the modern aesthetic, still was a bit dark in there. Merchandise shop available, large production brewery behind the bar through big glass window. Selection is 12 house beers on draft, 4 available in the bottle. Food is a couple of bar snacks. Tasting flight and smaller pours seemed to be available, but were not advertised on the beer menu. Nice enough service, though got weird attitude as I left asking me to pay for a 2nd beer I didn’t have. I explained I only had 1, and the lady working basically told me I was lying, but don’t worry about it. I fixed the hours, accurate as of September 2016.

70 = ★★½ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“Came here 30.4.2016. Very large and commercial brewery just outside of Dallas. Not even 4 years old, already have expanded largely. Quite busy on a Saturday afternoon. They conduct very professional brewery tours. You can sit in the large brewhouse, with huge fermentation tanks and many wooden barrels or in the large very family friendly patio outside. A food truck is available. Beers are absolutely ok. Had a session IPA and a nitro tapped Milk stout. Opening hours are much more extensive than dispalyed on the top.“

“Several taps and a good variety. Good bar size and a nice patio overlooking a lake. Simple food menu that is priced well. I had the Harvest Salad and it was amazing as far as a salad is concerned.“

“Visited here in late June ’15 while in the area for business. Located in a strip mall, small, neighborhood liquor store feel to it. Friendly cashier, asked if I needed help, then left me alone - which is what I like. Have a very large selection of craft beer - many of the Dallas area brewers represented, both in bombers and in six packs. But, they do not sell singles - so not my cup of tea while only in town for a few days. Picked up a bomber and a British pint so as not to walk out empty handed.“

“Visited here in late June ’15 while in the area for business. Modern, clean industrial looking tap room in a industrial area. Nice high ceilings, view of the equipment behind the bar. Have at least a dozen or so of their beers on tap. All that I tried were excellent. They offer small 5 oz glasses which is perfect for a ticker like me. Wednesdays are "Neighbor Day" and everything is 20% off. Friendly, talkative, but not overbearing bartender. Will stop by again if in the area.“

“My wife and I usually go on a weekend night to enjoy the lake and a beer. For the most part the service is pretty good, beer selection is very good, and the ambiance is pretty good as well. Nice spot during the spring when it’s not too hot out yet. It’s pretty cool to be there when people are having their plate parties too.“

“Lakewood has one of the best tour/tasting setups in town. They have a nice wooden bar up front in the air conditioning with some long tables. They also have tables in the actual brewery, but there is no AC. A food truck is usually on hand during Saturday tastings, which cost $10 for four beers + a glass. The tastings are usually pretty crowded so get there early. Lakewood’s brewers are big fans of one-off casks and celebrating special occasions. They had five brand new cask beers on tap for American Craft Beer Week, and three more for Belgian Independence Day. Definitely a brewery that values experimentation.“

“Really do enjoy going here. Even on pint night and trivia night, it doesn’t seem to overcrowded. What really draws me in here is obviously the beer selection. They have the largest, and usually best beers on draft (and in bottles) in town. However, bottle prices are pricey as well as some drafts. This is to be expected, but still, I’ve seen better prices elsewhere. Other than that, this is my go-to location for my beer fix. The patio and large bar are a plus.“

“One of if not the best stores in the Garland/Mesquite area for craft and import beer. All the 6-packs are in the coolers but some of the bombers are on a shelf on the far wall. I’ve seen 3 different employees/owners and they all take a genuine interest in what you’re looking for.“

“I actually like the location here a bit better than the Addison one. It feels newer, and also has a great patio. No smoking is a huge plus. Service is really attentive, but sometimes the knowledge here is lacking. I’ve been served the wrong beer on more than one occasion, but it’s also been corrected when I asked. I haven’t eaten here, but I assume it’s quite good just like the other Saucer locations. Value for draft beers is pretty good, but bottles tend to be a bit overpriced. I like this location and recommend it for a combination of great beer drinking with a nice patio atmosphere!“

“Great looking draft house - dark woods on the inside and a huge patio overlooking the lake on the outside. Service was only decent (although it was very busy). Best beer selection I have ever seen - hundreds of beers available, and thanks to beer flights you can try many! Solid bar food and vegetarian options noted. Beers were rather expensive, but there are many specials available.“

“Not quite as good as the Houston location in most aspects but gets bonus points for the lake view. Still a solid place where the beer geek can get enough great brews to make it worth a stop. I’ve only been once & don’t know how representative of the norm my experience was, but the service was mediocre at best ...mainly due to one bartender guy. Might have been an exception but I have no one to confirm that.“

“Gotta love a place directly on the lake, so this one gets immediate points for location. Selection is on par with the Ft Worth location and generally better than the Addison one. I had a great time last year at their Summer Beer Fest and got to try lots of beers. The service hasn’t wowed me during any of my visits. Food is lacking.“

“Great location right on the lake and next to Bass Pro Shops. When the weather is nice, have a pint on the outside covered patio overlooking Lake Ray Hubbard. The selection is about like the other Flying Saucers, but the limited beers seem to stay on tap a little bit longer at this location. Decent food, but nothing to write home about. If you like other Flying Saucer locations, you will like this one.“

“Visited a couple of months after they opened this location. I am used to Flying Saucer Houston. I assumed this would be at least as great. Umm, not even close. What a joke. Located in Suburbia, the staff and servers have no clue about what they serve or what strong ranked brews they can offer, or what they taste like. The selection was a joke compared to Houston. What we did get wasn’t even fresh. And how do you screw up a Turkey Reuben sandwich??? The same thing I get at the Houston Saucer all the time. I barely ate half due to gristle. The servers we had were dumb and vacuous with no knowledge of good beer, and slow to boot. I held my head in shame because I had brought a guest there after talking up the great service and selection of the Saucer. Not this one. A joke. An embarrassment actually. I will not visit again. Come to Houston to learn how to train your servers and what customer service means.“

“Poor service at this location. DO NOT try the grilled bratwurst. I believe they steam their brats instead of pan fry or grill since I never see any grill marks or browning. They also do not know how to put one together. The cooks appeared to only be speaking Spanish. I waited 25 minutes for a pretzel that looked de-flated. On another visit, I sat at a table for over a half hour before anyone came. The Manager was a good sport though and gave me a break on my bill. Interestingly, no one seems to know the price of the glassware that they proudly display and try to discourage purchases when asked. The cohesion between the wait staff and bar staff seems lacking. I did notice that the Manager would pop out of the back office once in a while and watch a little Basketball before returning through the door in the back bar. I’ve visited this place about 6 times and not sure if I can muster another one. Too bad though, since decent bars in this area of town are lacking. One last thing. If you’re going to offer a Black and Tan - Learn how to make one! UPDATE: Went in on April 10, 2013 and sat at the table in the center because the bar was full although overall it was not crowded. Sat there for over 15 minutes without any service even though I made eye contact with two young female servers. They were too busy stuffing their mouth with food. Just had to walk out. I will never ever return even though I’ve spent over $500 their since they opened on beer and glassware. Pitiful!“

“I am normally a big fan of Flying Saucer, but the service at this location keeps holding me back. They have the typical endless selection of draft beers, but their waitstaff is typically terribly unaware of the current menu. Add that to unattentive service, and I typically avoid this place. After going for 3 straight days shortly after it opened and getting terrible service (waiting 30+ minutes for refills, etc.) on each day, I only go back once a quarter or so, and the service level has not changed. I would avoid this place unless you feel like constantly flagging down waitresses for another $5 beer. Re-Rate: 12/20/2010: Service has improved a good bit in the last 6 months or so, as apparently someone got the memo. Best beer patio in Big D!“

“Bad news: Not the most competent or motivated of the Flying Saucer employees. First food experience says it isn’t very exciting. Good news: It is far enough away that the rare taps don’t get hit as hard. St Arnolds Divine Reserve #9 was on tap without fanfare as was Avery Dugana and many others that would certainly be gone in Addison. Outdoor patio view of the lake is quite spectacular and worth the trip itself.“

“Not bad, not bad at all. Stopped by on Christmas night. A nice little stop with a fair amount of folks included. The bartender seemed to know his stuff, even though I educated him on a bit of info. This place seemed like a mix between the Flying Saucer and Joe’s Crab Shack. Odd, yet comfortable. Do as you will.“
