“Nice brewery in a strip mall. No flights, but they do half pours, so I did 2. Around 12 beers on tap, including a couple of sours. 6 packs of same beer for sale to go. Porter was pretty decent, but otherwise mediocre. 3.7“

“Enormous space in Long Beach. Tons of barrels on one side of the room. A couple of barrel aged beers on tap. About 20 beers on tap of mixed styles. Parking wasn’t bad on Thursday night, but I can see it getting bad on weekends. Pretty good quality. Flight of 5 for 17 including tax. Not bad.“

“This is a really neat place. Besides being a brewery, they are also a bakery, making their own breads and pizza dough. They have a neat little arcade in the taproom. Plenty of indoor seating, Beers are all good. The tap list is heavy on IPAs, which is fine by me.“

“Visited July 2022. Huge place kind of halfway between downtown and Bixby Knolls. Easy street parking around the brewery. They have two parts to it, the brewery with a bunch of seating and then the bakery/restaurant portion where you order but can also get food both for there and to go. We didn't eat, but looked like the food was pretty decent. Lots of pizza, bread, sandwiches, etc. No flights that I could tell, but they do offer half pours. Beers are also available in bottles to go in the coolers. I opted for a couple half pours and we sat in the brewery portion where there was a live band playing some classic rock covers. Not bad. The beers we tried were all okay--nothing amazing, but not bad either. Service experience was brief but friendly. The place has kind of a local/neighborhood vibe and I would have liked to try some of the food, but wasn't hungry. Wouldn't mind trying some more stuff from these guys.“

“Visited July 2022. Pretty huge location just a bit off Long Beach Boulevard and Anaheim St. Big warehouse/industrial space across from some new apartments. This place kinda has the whole "if you see this in your neighborhood, the rent's about to go up" meme vibe to it. I don't really mean that to be disparaging. They also have a bit of a patio in the empty driveway sort of area outside. Parking here isn't the greatest, but we were able to find something pretty easily on a side street. So yeah, the place itself is huge and they have a massive number of beers on tap. I ended up just doing a couple flights, but could have easily racked up 20+ ticks here if you want. They seemed to have like a dozen IPAs alone but there were also some lagers, stouts, sours, and miscellaneous stuff. Beer quality was quite good. Only one of the things I tried wasn't terribly good, but everything else was nice and I'd be happy to have again. Definitely worth checking out, but still hard to recommend here over Beachwood.“

“Visited July 2022. Walked here after having lunch at Little Coyote (highly recommend). Kind of a weird place. The exterior facade kind of has like a vaguely Tuscan looking masonry look to it. Inside it's kind of generic strip mall restaurant with some of their branding/decor on the walls. We took a couple seats at the bar. Only one other patron inside right around opening. The food menu here is sort of gastropub-like, though we didn't eat anything. They had a pretty sizable beer menu, but I just opted for a flight of five (and stole a tick from my friend's beer). Glad I did as the beer quality was not very good. We interacted a bit with the bartender (obviously) and the chef, and they seemed like really nice people and the service was quite good. Unfortunately the beer here just isn't very good, so I probably wouldn't come back. It is on 4th Street where there are a lot of other bars and restaurants, so you might find yourself around here if you're doing other stuff in this part of Long Beach, but I wouldn't make it a point to come here specifically.“

“Næstsidste dag på en ferie der slet ikke bød på nok øl. Rigtig god mad, men servicen var so so. Søde men havde ingen ide om øllene. Fik to øl de ikke anede hvad var, men fik dog en ny da jeg fik en forkert der smagte dårligt. Ikke helt vild med konceptet. Blandet oplevelse, men fedt at prøve.“

“This place is tucked away in the pedestrian promenade of Downtown Long Beach. There is ample outdoor seating, as well as some indoor seating. They have a good number of beers on tap as well as a bunch of Blendery beers. The Blendery beers are pretty expensive for the small pours, but worth it. Four ounce pours are otherwise available at at a reasonable price. In addition, they have a huge selection of bottles (Blendery bottles as well as 3F, The Bruery, De Molen, and a number of other heavy hitters), which you cam drink there or take to-go. The food was not the best BBQ I had, but it was still quite tasty and did not feel like a wasted meal. Staff was super nice and friendly. I really enjoyed my visit.“

“Visited Saturday dinnertime... busy but not crowded, we were seated right away. Hard to find the first time, look for the red neon sign. Weird setup where you go to the bar to order anything (equals waiting for people ahead to decide what they want), and they bring it to your table. I had a Simcoast IPA that was very nice, wife had a cider that was kinda thin and winey. But her pulled pork sandwich, though average plus, was way better than my brisket, which was chopped to mush and super sugary. Expensive... pints are $7.50 to $9.00. It was like fifty bucks for two pints and two bbq sandwiches.“

“Located in a pretty part of downtown Long Beach with easy, metered street parking available. Beautiful setup, which lots of patio and inside seating. Loads of beers on tap, including a large selection from Beachwood Blendery as well. You order up at the bar and they bring your beers out to you. No flights (maybe a Covid thing?), but 4 oz pours of most beers for a pretty reasonable price ($3.50-$5 plus tax for most). Really good beer quality across the board—they nail everything. Really great service too. Worth the trek out here when in greater LA. They have a great reputation for a reason.“

“Visited for dinner on a Friday night. Located in a rougher part of Long Beach, parking is along the street. Smaller room as you enter, with high tops and a few seats at the bar. There is also a loft room that was getting ready to be used for an event. The food menu is unique, bakery menu with breads, pizzas, dips and sandwiches. The beer selection is 19 house beers along with one guest cider, each available as a small or large pour with most available to go as a Crowler. Great service and vibe, lots of interesting beer styles, food options and character here. (Worth the visit, must for locals, and visitors with time) I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“I really like the setup of this place! Very trendy in a nice part of Downtown Long Beach. Outside areas to sit...nice, comfortable bar to chill at. Customer service was great and felt welcomed and taken care of. Excellent choices of beer and the food was pretty good! This will be a go to spot for me when traveling!“

“Went on a Saturday afternoon during the playoffs at around 2:00 in the afternoon (needed to do some work). Pretty uncrowded and reasonably quiet with the games on. But who cares about that stuff. The beer is the star here. They do flights, half pours, full pours and have some bottles to take out. I had a flight and a couple of half pours and the worst of the stuff I had would be near the top of the line elsewhere. The best of the stuff I had would be top of the line anywhere. Checking in on Untappd, everything had a very low number of reviews so you know this place rotates their selection a lot as well. This is the highest rated beer place in the greater LA region for a reason. If you love beer and have time to trek down to Long Beach and don't go here, you are doing yourself a disservice. Did not try the food (had already eaten) but it looked excellent as well.“

“Long Beach location at the end of the spit between 2 inlets, overlooking the water very nicely. Parking is split between 3 or 4 other places also occupying the same spit of land. Upstairs/downstairs, with 2 bars down. Food is very good. The brews are a strong representation of their stuff, some brewed on site, although some also were out - more than one, actually. Very nautical restaurant inside, and cool. A 'serve yourself' place which they do not really tell you immediately. They do bring the food to you. Overall, a great atmosphere, and solid brews, as ever for BP.“

“Visited on a Wednesday afternoon. Newer building, located a bit off the street on a pedestrian walkway. Flat layout, with seating at a long bar, or at restaurant tables and booths in an indoor / outdoor space that garage doors letting in air. Large patio. Beer selection is 18 house beers, full pour, half pour or flights. Also have 12 well chosen guests. Food menu is BBQ, and what my neighbors were eating look good. Friendly service. To go beer also available as cans, bottles, crowlers and growlers. Relaxed vibe, great beers.

76 = *** (Worth the visit, must for locals, and visitors with time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“Visited early July 2016. Cool space that seats maybe 20-30 people and stands probably another 30. 6 beers on when I went, they were out of one Berliner, but had 4 saisons, a ’lambic style’ thing, and another Berliner. Sizes on pours are 25, 30, or 33 CL depending on the beer (most have 2 options), but no smaller pours. With 6-7 things on, that’s not untenable to go through everything, but it meant (for me at least) some stuff was left unfinished. Also interesting that a number of the things there were being poured from bottles, which seems like a lot of work to bottle, cork & cage, and then label a whole bunch of stuff instead of kegging it. There’s a few games at the bar, and coloring books and colored pencils. Staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. “

“In around noon after some time on the beach on the last Wednesday in June 2016. Pretty full crowd outside for lunch, but inside was much more relaxed and the bar was relatively empty, so seating was quick and easy. Lots of house beers on, 17 of their own, and another 15 or so guest taps. Food was excellent. I ended up taking a solo trip here again a few days later as I wanted to check out the blendery, but this opens earlier in the day so I stopped here first. Pretty sure in those short few days a number of beers had already changed over. Going back to LA again in a few days and this is high on my list of places to revisit. Great staff, good beers and food. Worth the trip. “

“Visited on February 2017. Location in small alley and pretty hard to find. It was totally crowded on Saturday but we got tables after ~45 minutes. Some flights available. Their own beers are excellent. Food menu is interesting. Service good. There was quite noisy guy with saxophone and it was very annoying.“

“Annoyingly hard to place to find. Its really small, almost an afterthought location. Really diverse selection of beers, but mostly ipa heavy. I was expecting great, but there were average. I wouldn’t come for just the beer based on this trip. The food was really good but two big complaints. Everything was over seasoned, too salty, and the sauces were over exaggerated for the styles and not very good. Smoked ham is a must get, smoked chicken is very smokey but I liked it. Pastrami was interesting but not a must. Hush puppies solid, corn bread dry and boring. Come for the food, have a beer.“

“Pretty typical Total Wine in the back of a large shopping complex. The name is a bit misleading, as I would barely consider this Long Beach (definitely out of the way for the vast majority of Long Beach). Good selection of wine, spirits, beer, ect. A big problem with Total Wine in general is the big lack of cold storage for beer. Typical Total Wine, which is to say good, but not a place to really seek out.“

“If you didn’t know about the history of this place, you would be tempted to think that it was just another brewpub. Nice indoor bar with view of the brewing equipment, good outdoor seating and well made typical and less typical brewpub food. The beer selection was outstanding with a large number of their own taps and guest taps but also quite a few bottles. Flights of a few things are available, so are small pours of pretty much everything. Many of their own beers on tap are hard to find elsewhere and the guest taps were very well selected! Definitely a place to check out in LA but maybe not immediately after the Beachwood Blendery...“

“This is a hard place to review, many of the things on tap are exclusively available at the Beachwood Blendery or at least are very hard to get elsewhere. At the time of our visit there were 11 beers available, some tap and some bottle pours, flights of four of everything were offered. The prices are quite steep (around 6$ for 2.5dl, 8$ for 3.3dl and 20$ for bottles) but the offerings were unique. The tasting room itself is fairly small but was not overcrowded when we were there. Compared to other tasting rooms, the selection of beers was pretty small since they only sell their own, locally produced sours and wilds in limited quantities. If you are interested in sours and wild beers, this place is an absolute must in the LA area. The beers we tasted were phenomenal and quite unique. In the realm of american sours, beachwood blendery certainly has its place!“

“Great little place next a wonderful new gastorpub. All their taps(9) are sours. Beautiful examples of fruits, Berliners’ and one offs. Cozy little taproom with small bar seating(50+). Go into the bathroom area with a barrel experiment and all those beautiful Barrels. WOW! Great laid back taproom with wonderful brews.“

“Visited early evening on Tuesday 7th Feb 2017. 29 taps of their own beers, 6 from Melvin Brewing of Wyoming. Everything my wife and I had to drink was fine, fresh and in good condition: we did not eat. Basic bar in all aspects, boards advertising what’s available on the glass wall behind the bar, which in turn block your view of the actually brewing equipment. Clean and tidy place, pleasant, happy staff and customers: nice vibe, food looked good. Certainly prefer this location to their Seal Beach place, although I prefer the village of Seal Beach to the town of Long Beach.“

“Visited on the afternoon of Tuesday 7th Feb 2017. Lovely location, typical Yard House (dark inside with a huge central bar surrounded by stools: tabled seating with waiting staff in all directions also. My wife and I sat at the bar as I wanted to see the ’chalkboard’ selection and what specials turned up on the screen up above the actual bar. Had the 6 beer ’changing flight’ or whatever they call it and then it was Happy Hour and we had pints, Sliders and the Mushroom Lettuce Sandwiches. Got to say the server, beers and food were all superb: wife liked the relaxed feel of the place, as I did also (pretty quiet customer wise), so a win win situation all round. With around 100 different taps you would have to be a real geek to have tried them all before and with their rare and limited edition selection it is unlikely to be the case anyway.“

“Visited Thursday, 6/30/2016, for lunch. Great beers and great food. This location is significantly larger than the Seal Beach location and is a brewpub rather than a restaurant. Offered 20-30 of their own beers on tap and 8-10 guest beers on tap. Flights of 5 beers available, but IIRC, the guest beers were not available for the flights. Had the pulled pork bbq sandwich and thought it was very good. Love this place.“

“(Just as no guy/gal is a ’10’, nothing is a ’0’ or ’10’ with me.) Kudos to the guys who were in line already when we got there at 10AM. I was the fourth in line but the only one with a growler: Rest assured, I got the first growler poured to the public. You know it had to be Sculpin! They were still doing some finishing touches outside but otherwise this place is open! Overall, they did a nice job and the grand opening@11AM went well for us with a minimal amount of delays. I wasn’t expecting anything more than cold beer, to be honest with you. We wanted to hang around a bit and ordered a salad and some mussels. The mussels were awesome, very fresh with Spanish chorizo and peppers plus a generous portion. Salad was good too, with shaved fennel. Prices aren’t YH outrageous for food. Service was very good/very friendly. It will be absolutely nuts for the next few months. Minor disappointments: No Homework series #6 even though it was on the taplist(which was as extensive as any SDCO location). They also pour 8oz. for some of their specialty brews so you need to pay attention to the beer menu closely. There was plenty of what you see at their other locations in SD. The BP flagship beers are still being brewed in SDCO and shipped here. There were no other offerings from other breweries at my visit. This BP location combines all the pluses of the San Diego County locations into one with the added benefit of being near the water(former Windrose/Khoury’s location). The sunset views have always been spectacular here and can be viewed by many spots here inside and out. I really like the setup of the place: There are only a few TV’s and none of them are visible from the outside. Depending on where you are, you might not see a TV at all. There are plenty of different combinations for seating as well as two satellite bars besides the main bar: One is in the rear of the place and the other is upstairs on the upper deck. Oh man, the upper deck! Great views with cozy seating. This is what separates all the places I’ve been to, the view of the harbor inlet. Hopefully, the beer/food selections/HH will increase as they get there feet firmly planted in the sand/water at this new location. Looking forward to seeing what the HH will be like here: Nothing wrong with cheaper barley pops/apps! How about some growler fill specials, too? The gauntlet has been dropped: Anything within 20 miles of this place has some major brew competition because of the quality/selection of beer and the ambiance. No doubt, you definitely need to check it out. I don’t see how you can be disappointed. Only time will tell what happens next but I expect some wonderful tasting opportunities for all in our community. With competition, we fellow imbibers can only benefit! “

“Visited 24.4.16 for a brief lunch and tasting with Ran and Ariel. Quite busy, bright colours and a googie logo which I liked. Sampled house beers mostly but they do have other options, like the bottle of cider than Ariel picked. Beer is decent. Food’s ok - don’t recall vegan indications on the menu but the veggie burger is vegan and the dish can be adjusted. A good place to visit if in the area. We took a turn to visit there and don’t regret.“
