CALLE ARGUMOSA, 28
“Interesting evolution of a vintage Galician restaurant into a trendy beer joint in Madrid Lavapiés neighborhood, a stone's throw away from many other beer venues such as El Pedal, Chinaski or La Buena Pinta (pub crawling ahoy!) Impressive collection of bottled ales, even large (75 cl) ones. Large dining room, terrace. Didn't try the food, they told me it's the same dishes from the classic restaurant.“

“Visited back at the end of October on a trip that toured the city well. This was our favourite beer bar of all, for its careful selection of beers, including quite a lot of local stuff, the well-matched light tapas and the delightful absence if intrusive music, enabling us to talk with each other. White-walled with enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff.“

Krüger (Restaurant)
CALLE PRINCESA NO. 5, SEMISOTANO
“Big German restaurant hidden within a graffiti-laden, dark underground alley beside Plaza de España, easily unnoticed even though it's a huge place once you're inside. Six taps and several bottles (many Engel bocks and weizens); not a huge selection though.“

Be Hoppy (Beer Store)
CALLE FUCAR 1
“The choice of beers is good, but I was expecting something bigger. The service was for me cold and not so welcome, but it is just my personal view. The prices are not so cheap with a Swiss salary it is ok but for the majority of Spanish people, it is really high. Some beers are even more expansive than some places that I have visited in Amsterdam and Germany. It is just my experience.“

Mas que cervezas (Beer Store)
LEÓN 32
“Большой минус магазина был в том что он очень маленький и не совсем удобный. Также продавец был весьма навязчивым. В целом радует выбор пива а также весьма их редкие сорта. Неплохой выбор крафта а также Германии и Бельгии. Можно еще винчик или шампусик прикупить тут же. В целом неплохой магазин.“

La Buena Cerveza (Beer Store)
CALLE PELAYO, 5, MADRID
“Отличный магазин пива в весьма специфическом районе. Все пиво красиво стоит на деревяных полках. Имеется неплохой запас классической Бельгии а также Испанского и Английского крафта. Топчик из Германии тоже есть. Радует пространство в магазине. Очень даже приятное место.“

“I had the chance to visit this wonderful place on a Saturday morning. Variety of beers is really good, with European and US ones and a lot of lambic as a highlight. Owner and people are really friendly and knowledgable. I had a great time. A must visit while in Madrid“

“Great atmosphere, excellent tortilla/omelette and a fairly good choice of craft beer all at reasonable prices. A brilliant combination more than just a beer destination. Visited in March 2019. Seems they now have 2 other venues in Madrid.“

“I went there the last week, after to bring my mother at the airport of Madrid. In my point of view, the place is small. The selection is correct with some craft beers of Rumania. The service is friendly, helping you. The advantage is that this place is close to the train station of Atocha.“

“Well, Fábrica Maravillas is no longer the only brewpub in Madrid city center! Källa is a welcome new microbrewery that boasts loads of wooden furniture, high ceilings and friendly staff. Not many proprietary ales so far (just three) but they offer a range of other breweries' beers.“

Mad Grill (Restaurant)

“Small America style diner in Madrid city centre, just off one of the main shopping streets down a quieter back street. Fairly quiet on my visit. Friendly greeting and friendly attentive service from the staff. The table next to us asked several questions about the food and beer and they seemed to get answered with confidence and enthusiasm. Quite a big selection in terms of bottles and a few local beers on tap. My criticism would be that it focused on quite a narrow range of beer, the pale ales. A couple of imperial stouts and porters but nothing that overly appealed to myself, as a fan of the sweeter wheat, malt driven beer. All the darker beers where far to high in ABV to pair with food. Overall, the food and service both tipping towards outstanding end of the scale. A wider selection of styles and slightly lower prices would be welcome but worth a visit for the food alone.“
