“Craftbeer-bar in the old center of Triest. Very rusty and fucked-up place, but with excellent beers (Mostly italian small brewers) on tap (6 beers) and 2 refrigerators with great beer as well. The storage area is in the guest area. There's only one toilet for everyone, which is old, but clean. Strange, but special atmosphere -after some beers not unpleasant.“

“We came here on 5.5.2023. Forst is a South Tyrolean brewery operating a few beer halls in Italy. Feels like being in a Munich beer place. The Felsenkeller beer and Pilsner were both very solid. Ambiance more on the commercial side. Was expecting more.“

“Pub with Cantillon on tap can't be bad! Mastro Birraio in Trieste center has a good tap selection plus goodies on bottle. Selection is towards Belgium (like different Orvals on bottle) but they have some Italian micros as well. English style pub, bartender was very nice and their burgers were good too! They seem to have a patio behind the pub on the other side of the block.“

“Big shiny place next to the sea. This is same concept as Eataly everywhere else: all kind of Italian craft food and drinks available. Except they have some non-Italian beers as well... Good place to pick some Italian microbrewery beers and maybe some eatable homecoming gifts as well. The place is not the cheapeast.“

“This is Asian style restaurant in Trieste city center with an excellent Italian microbrewery beer selection on tap. 10-12 taps all Italian micros. Place looks a bit upscale and is very popular for food. We just had some beers outside. Service is friendly, they are verified venue on UT.“

“This is a tiny brewpub in Trieste city center. Tiny alley, no big signs, so easy to miss and pass. They have 5-6 own beers available (probably also flights but at the time of visit "we don't have glasses") which I had to say - quite poor (I couldn't finish their smoked beer). Tiny brewing kit is visible next to bar stand.“

“Medium sized to large place with 11 taps. Just one Italian beer on tap, rest are European imports. 3 German HB beers. More beers in three fridges which were half full (or empty), round 60 bottles in total. Bottles are also mostly imported, 10 or so Italian beers. Good service, proper poor and they didn't make a problem when I paid with the large bill, though they didn't have cash right away. Worth checking out for a beer or two if you're bar hopping in Trieste.“

“Maybe a tad hard to find, medium sized place with wooden furniture. Bit of a fake old pub feel to it. Good selection of 8 taps mostly Italian and mostly from Gambolo brewery. I liked different styles. 60 bottles, mostly Italian and Belgian ones. Some of those are pricey, but I guess that's Italy for you. Found couple of nice de la Senne. Good and friendly service, they knew their beers. Certainly worth visiting if you find yourself in Trieste.“

“Great place and a friendly English speaking owner. They have a terrific tap list, and an even more impressive bottle line up (at prices which reflect the rarity of some of the offerings). The place in general leans more towards lambics, dark beers and belgians than it does to the Pale Ale/IPA genres, which is fine by me. We were chuffed to find Founders Mas Agave on tap first night we were here (we drank it all, sorry). They also do burgers and other beer food, which was OK. Read the menu carefully if you don't like your burger very rare.“

“Un must se in città con una selezione molto ben fatta soprattutto per gli amanti delle Lager e degli stili inglesi , il servizio è assolutamente top con cura dei particolari , il pezzo forte è la cucina ( con birra ) dove Elio spazia ai fornelli .. tutto molto bene , un posto dove si sta bene ..!!!“

“Bel posto vecchio stampo come piacciono a me con molto legno ed un classico Pub Feeling , selezione improntata sul Belgio classico ma con tutti gli stili ben rappresentati con anche roba sour sia alla spina che in bagging box , il servizio del proprietario / pubblican è impeccabile ed entusiasta , si è chiacchierato molto di birra e di altro in un ambiante piacevole , non ho provato il cibo ma sembravano tutte robe interessanti e abbondanti .. bel posto !“

“This place focuses mostly (if not exclusively) on the best italian micros. Andrea, the owner, is a really nice guy and the prices are great. Best value for money in Trieste, one of the three pubs (alongside Taverna Ai Mastri d'Arme and Mastro Birraio) that are a must while in town. Recommended.“

“Didn't have any trouble finding it (sorry djoeye!) but really loved it. The sort of bar you could settle in for an evening until it/you/everything just melted away. Italian and Slovenian micros on tap. Could have stayed for a week...“

“Cavana-beers, five on taps. Mini place. Summertime they use pavement too. English is spoken. Guitarist made a nice ambience. Virtuosic. Clever at fingerplay. Violinist and harmonicist joined. I got an italian feeling just then. Modest price level. Couldn't see any cardpay. Definitely worth a visit.“

“The neighbour to the little Coop grocery I visited earlier today. Black chairs n tables. Spring green walls n ceiling. 12 taps, electronic blackboard tells 10 at work. Price level a bit up, but not extremely. Ambience varied music in the back. Minors allow, but when nine months young babies just scream and weep, and it's nine in the evening, their parents should catch the picture and bring them home. Couldn't see cardpay here. Hops Beerstro is absolutely worth a visit. Beers are well kept, fresh n cold.“

“Prepare well to find it. Googlemaps helped me. It's really worth the detectival energy. Super-pubbish athmosphere and brown interior, modest lights, with vintage music and oldies prunes played - and not too loud. Thanks. Many italian craft goodies on taps. High tickability here. Notice that they have good burgers, probably best hamburgers in Trieste. Very pleasant service. Cardpay is possible.“

“Somewhat hidden in a side street, but lucky me, I found it. Second door on Via Tor de Bandena, modest black letters on the green wall, so hard to see when dark. Six visible taps, loads of bottles, many beerfriendly dishes. Much as sandwich based. Friendly service, english is spoken, varied music is played, sometimes live music. Card pay is possible. Absolutely worth the visit.“

“In downtown good old Trieste. Six taps. Loads of bottles. Interior semiminimalistic, six tables, thirty chairs, one bike, hundred kegs, and fifty empty bottles in the window rests. This is a beer spot. Weekdays it opens at noon, saturdays n sundays at four afternoon. *Tap beers are fresh n natural. *The beerbarman is very serious. *English is limited, but he understands if you pronounce one word for word and without terrible scandinavian accents. *Still only cashpay. 4€ 30cl tap. Yes, worth a visit while in Trieste. Maybe, why not start beering here...“

“Nothing but good things to say about this place. It was packed, so I didn't manage to try any food but the bartender was welcoming and english speaking. He had aged lambics on tap to serve, a couple great local beers on tap, and they were all immaculate. It is small and can get busy but this is a beer bar done right, worth travelling for.“

“Cool looking place that sends ones thought to a hipster bar rather than a Vienna beer house or a traditional pub (wich seems more common in Trieste). Good tap selection with nice Italian beers availible. They were almost out of bottles for the time of my visit. The service was somewhat arrogant, otherwise an OK pub.“

“Probably the best place in Trieste! Superb selection of mostly Belgian and Italian beers. Had some nice local beers on cask and also a bottle of Earthnun from Struise. Everything served in perfect condition. The service is both knowledgeable and welcoming. They didn’t have a bottle list but when asked for, they let me enter the cooler to seek out a bottle for myself. Nice classic wooden interior with beery merchandise on the walls. The food didn’t look much but after tasting we were more than happy. Overall a really friendly and well thought pub!“

“A rather large bar alledgely with live music on occassion. 6 taps but at my visit only four had beer pouring from them, all of them good Italian micros. A nice selection of bottles too but unfortunately only a few of them were in the fridge. This place has the potential of becoming a great place but unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired. The waiter was arrogant and lazy and he actually gave me the feeling that I was bothering him by buying beer. Some of it may have to do with the language barrier (his English was as bad as my Italian), but never the less, I didn’t feel welcome at all. I went the next day to check if he was just having a bad day, but got shown the door because "no open". The sign on the door clearly says opening hours are 12-24 on week days and I was there 3PM! I wish the best for this place but they really need to up the customer service by a couple of thousand percents“

“8 taps and some 50 bottles. Focus is on belgians (lots of sours) and Italian micros. Some really good stuff amongst them. The food is great, don’t miss the birramisu - tiramisu made with Chimay Gran Reserva in stead of coffee. The service is fabulous. The owner is very knowledgable og entusiastic about beer and his happyness rubs off on you“

“Nice pub with outdoor seating near the main square. 7 taps with Italian and mostly forreign quality beers. Around 60 bottles, mostly Belgian but also some Italians in between. Expert service, great food, a bit expensive. Be aware of the bottle! Some of them are way beyond BBF so if you don’t like your imperial stout oxydated, you should check the bottle before the waiter opens it“

“Brilliant little bar tucked away outside the immediate centre of Trieste. Cozy interior, great selection of local and international beers served in perfect condition - the three hand-pumps make for particularly nice looking and wonderful velvety mouthfeel. Very friendly and knowledgeable owner/barman and a really good kitchen - the wild boar burger special I had was very tasty. A must visit!“

“Beside Mastro Birraio, this is the other place you can’t miss while in Trieste. The tap-list is always interesting, the food is very good and the staff knowledgeable and nice. You can find some hidden gems in bottles but unfortunately there’s no bottle list so you have to ask for suggestions. Highly recommended!“

“Visited for dinner with my family. "Cellar-ish"location - very snug and inviting inside. I have to agree with the others that this is more or less THE place to go for craft beer in the region. Owner was extremely helpful and enthusiastic about helping my wife and daughter pick a brew to their style leanings, and seeing a tap board like this was mind-bending in a city where options are very limited. I believe the Pils from the local brewery is always on offer, which my wife loved. I had Taras Boulba draft, since, well, I basically can not pass that up on draft, anywhere. Food was excellent - eclectic mix of sandwiches, burgers, et al, but I mean downright excellent. Trieste as a whole is a very worthwhile visit, and this place was a great choice for our last meal there - if we were in town longer, I probably would have went there every night.“
