“Huge brewpub with amazing views of the city. Decent beer selection, although limited to just their own beers. Had a wood fired pizza which was tasty but not the best I've had. Also offers burgers, chips etc. With visiting for the view“

“Happy Valley Brewing is located in an industrial area in the Brisbane suburb of Stafford and has been in business for over two years. There is limited local on-street parking that fills quickly and it is a short walk from the nearest public transport bus stop. It is a small warehouse-style venue with the vessels to one side, indoor seating for approximately 70 people, and eclectic art decorating the walls. There are 16 taps and on the day of my visit all were pouring their own brews. The staff and friendly and knowledgeable. The menu is current as it is displayed on electronic screens. Beers are available in 285ml, 425ml and 570ml and are Brisbane craft beer scene priced. Tasters of five are available ($20). Take-away mixed can packs are available. Apart from the beers there is a "Non Beer" menu of red, white, sparkling wine and soft drinks. Food is available at limited times and consists of bar snacks, burgers, etc (order at the bar and collect from across the street). There is a welcoming and entertaining atmosphere with streamed music.“

“Hikers is located in a cul-de-sac in the industrial area of suburban Salisbury in Brisbane’s south. It is in a newly renovated warehouse-style venue with only indoor seating for around 100 people and is family friendly and pet friendly. The bar, which greets you upon entry, has eight taps – seven of their own brews and a quest. The brewing vessels line one wall. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Glass sizes are 285ml, 425ml and 570ml and tasting paddles (self-choice of four) are available. Their core range is available in 440ml cans as take-away. Prices are competitive with others in the Brisbane craft beer scene. Food trucks are usually on-site on weekends.“

“I've visited them all - if you are on the northside (in fact the southside too) these guys have the best selection in SE QLD. Their range is nothing less than connoisseur.“

“Awesome little microbrewery venue! Unique beers for all tastes and they vary. Food truck evenings are great for dinner and beers, then take a growler home. Expanded with their unique gin range to mix it up. Get a Gin paddle to try them all.“

“Visited on a Wednesday lunchtime. Quite busy, most people on laptops. Staff efficient but not especially friendly (I don't think 58 year old guys on their own are their target demographic). Not too many taps but all of them had interesting beers, some I'd only seen here. Opposite the train station, short journey from the city.“

56 /100 BRISBANE AIRPORT, LEVEL 3, INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL (THROUGH SECURITY SCREENING POINT)
“A handful of local beers, the balance mostly regionals, so this was a good stop for the international traveller. Prices were pretty good for an airport bar - $9/$10 AUD, so only about $7 USD with no tip per tradition. That said, service always suffer when there's no tipping so you kinda have to stay on them. Right where you can watch the planes come in and go out, with flight monitors. Would definitely stop here again.“

BOSC (Bar)
69 VULTURE STREET (WEST END)
“BOSC (bar of social conscience) is located away from the main-stream bars of Brisbane’s West End, nestled in its dimly lit premises on a dimly lit corner. Inside, the boutique venue is decked out in recycled dark timbers and greenery and along with the mood lighting and the mood music gives it a welcoming, warm and homely feel. It is a bar of three themes - craft beer, gin (mostly Australian varieties) and Australian wine. There are up to twelve beer taps which are a mix of local Brisbane, other Australian and international (up to three of the Dutch craft brewer De Molen). Beers are available in two sizes (260 ml and 400 ml) and prices are standard Brisbane craft beer scene. There are no beer tasters, no beer take-ways and no food, however you are welcome to bring in food from local eateries. Worth a visit.“

“Tapworks has a fantastic range of craft beers on tap and I can always find something new and interesting when I go there. The food is also very good and the staff are knowledgeable about the beer they sell. The bar itself is sat in the middle of an outdoor food court and is a great place to sit in the sun and just watch the people come and go but other than the impressive column of dewy copper beer pipe descending from the ceiling it's not a very. inspiring space.“

“A huge place under the Story Bridge. Packed to the gills, Friday lunchtime. Only housebeers on tap. Mostly session types, the odd special. More a mass food eatery that brews its own beer than a specialist beer destination. Still, the view is top-notch.“

“Visited Friday lunchtime. Easy bus ride from City. Excellent range of taps. Great staff who were really interested in making sure I reviewed the right Cloudwater Pale (so many to choose from!) Food was fine with some good specials and add-ons. Worth the effort.“

86 /100 15 PALOMAR ROAD, YEERONGPILLY
“An environmentally friendly (the building is solar powered, hence the name Helios) brew pub in suburban Yeerongpilly that offers a tasty core range plus seasonal specials, all of which are brewed on-site in their 15 bbl brewery. Downstairs adjacent to the brewing vessels is the bar while upstairs there is open plan seating. The bar has up to 11 taps, one of which is cider. Tasting flights are available as is take home in growler/squealer plus they have many of their beers available in cans. They often do a special of four or six of their beers in a take home six-pack. There is also a limited range of wine and non-alcoholic drinks. The staff are friendly and welcoming, have a very good working knowledge of the product range; and you’ll see the brewers working the scene. The beers tried were all fresh and tasty and are at Brisbane craft beer scene prices. Food trucks are present on Friday and Saturday. If you like fresh, tasty beer then go visit soon.“

“White Lies Brewing is located in the industrial area of Sumner in the western suburbs of Brisbane. It has a bar and micro-brewery facility with a front bar area, a casual bar out the back right next to the brewing vessels, and a lounge-style area upstairs. The staff are friendly, welcoming and have a good working knowledge of the product range. The venue currently offers 12 of their own craft beers on tap (there are about 17 in their complete range) and new/seasonal beers are regularly released. Beers are available in three sizes (260ml, 340ml and 570ml), they do tasters (4 x 120ml at a competitive price), and growler/squealer re-fills are available. The beers are all fresh and tasty and are at Brisbane craft beer scene prices. They have a few guest beers available in bottles and also serve a limited range of wine and cider. There is a food van on-site each Friday, Saturday and Sunday serving a differing array of tasty bites. The place is family and pet/dog friendly and befitting the name the décor is a mix of ‘goth’ and retro (fancy a game of pin-ball?). Really worth a visit.“

“Sea Legs Brewing Co is located at Kangaroo Point, a short ferry ride across the river from the CBD. Like many of Brisbane’s craft breweries, Sea Legs occupies an old warehouse but this one, under the Story Bridge, is in the midst of high rise apartments. It has a warehouse look and feel with stark white block walls, a concrete floor and a trussed ceiling from which attractive bud lighting hangs. It is not air-conditioned so may be a bit uncomfortable on hot nights. There are lots of tables and trestles and you sit right up next to the brewing vessels. The staff are friendly, welcoming and have a good working knowledge of the product range. The venue currently offers a core of five beers plus a rotating guest tap and they have growlers and squealers to take home. The beers are all fresh and tasty and are priced at the top end of the price range of the Brisbane craft beer scene. Also on offer are wines, spirits and cocktails (by the jug) while the food menu lists reasonably priced pub-style eats. If you favour a lot of flavour then visit sooner than later.“

“Their range of beers is dominated by the major players as well as main-stream craft brewers and once you've tried all of these that's about it as new brands as slow to appear. The range is available in singles, packs or cartons and are priced accordingly. Some stores have a better range than others and level of staff knowledge is quite variable from store to store. Pricing is competitive and here is a good place to start your journey.“

“A really nice venue in the vibrant West End district. I had 3 beers (all of which were very good) and a bowl of chips (also good). The venue has two levels and a front and back section - the front overlooking the interesting street and the back in amongst the brewery. Overall it had a nice vibe with ok service and ok prices. Only about 8 taps but also a selection of wines and spirits plus a few cans from other brewers.“

The Burrow (Restaurant)
52 RUSSELL STREET, WEST END
“This place is in an old Queenslander building with an upstairs and downstairs section with some indoor and outdoor seating. They have about 8 rotating taps and quite a good range of bottles/cans too. The vibe was good and the food we saw coming out looked good. The service was a bit slow so I'd hate to be there when it was really busy. Would definitely check it out again if in the area.“

“A nice brewpub tucked down a laneway in the heart of West End. We had dinner there on a Monday night and the mainly US inspired menu was reasonably priced and tasty. They have about 10 beers on tap including a couple of guests but I tried some of their own brews which were all excellent. The seating includes some indoors and outdoors. One strange thing is the smoking area is near the front entrance which means everyone has to walk through it to get to the non-smoking area. All up though a nice place to hang out.“

“A really nice little bar with about 80 seats and a dozen or so rotating taps. They had food which looked nice but we didn't try. It is all indoors but with plenty of open windows and breezeways. A nice vibe but got a bit noisy when the Sunday night trivia quiz took over the venue. All up a good place for a few beers and probably a meal too. Also a few pinball machines on site.“

“All Inn Brewing is located in an industrial area which looks out over parkland and has a casual, relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere. The tap room is open to the public daily and is a casual type format with concrete floors and an adequate number of inside and outside tables. There is a good selection of craft beers with up to 16 taps plus a hand pump. Available is their core range as well as special/seasonal releases and maybe a guest beer and a cider. The staff are welcoming and friendly with a working knowledge of the products. Prices are Brisbane craft beer scene standard with 200 ml and 425 ml glass sizes and tasters (of four beers) are available but best to ask. Take-away stock is also available with a limited range available in cans or you can try their 750 ml ‘canimal’ which is canned on-site. On week-ends there is usually an on-site food wagon, as is live music.“

“12/4/2023 The greeny enclosed outdoor area is very welcoming and it is very pleasant to sit outdoors; the staff are very good and attentive; canned takeaway only available in four-packs. 12/4/2021 Slipstream has revamped its premises into a modern industrial-look venue. Entry is from the street through a family-friendly outdoor area from where you go into the long semi-open dining room/kitchen/bar (the cosy tap room right near the vats has gone). At the bar there are about 17 taps (six core, nine limited release, two guest) serving 140ml, 425ml and 570ml sizes at Brisbane craft beer scene prices. Self-choice (of four) tasters are available as is takeaway in cans or growlers. Food is trendy US style consisting of snacks (around $15/plate), burgers, pizza ($22) and mains ($20-30) plus there is a children's menu. Street parking is usually difficult to get however there is limited on-site parking at the rear. Public transport by train is close by. 25/2/2018 Slipstream Brewing is located in the Yeerongpilly industrial area wedged between two car repair sheds, which is not a welcoming aspect especially if there is the aroma of paint thinners. None-the-less Slipstream offers a casual and relaxed environment in which to meet up and enjoy locally produced craft beer. The tap room is open to the public on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons and is an industrial type format with polished concrete floors and enough inside and outside tables and trestle tables. There is a good selection of craft beers on tap with a core range consisting of about nine types plus they have special/seasonal releases. The staff are friendly with a good working knowledge of the product however on some occasions service is slow due to under-staffing/over-demand. Prices are Brisbane craft beer scene standard with selection of 200ml, 425ml and 570ml glass size. Reasonably priced tasting paddles are also available as are a limited number of the range in cans. There is usually an on-site food wagon which varies weekend-to-weekend.“

“Big big fans blow the coasters off the tables (but beer keeps them in place). Nice 'inner-city/ old workshop' feel. Food was excellent, place and area were not busy (lunchtime on NYE) but still had to park a block away. Nice staff, lots of choice. The only weird thing was two of their 'core' range were not available which were the only beers I was certain I'd find there.“

“Been the usual Friday meet up place for our gang for a long time now. The staff is awesome, friendly and always happy to get you just what you are after. Of the sixteen taps 12 are usually predictable to serve to the masses and the brew tap duopoly. Watch the ever rotating other taps though and large selection of bottles and cans behind the bar for the adventurous stuff. Always something different. Very solid pub food to keep you in your seat for another schooner. Hot buffalo style wings are pretty authentic and go great w sweet potato fries.“

“Not so long ago this was a craft beer bar, but now it’s more a pub (complete with trivia night, etc). The main area is well lit while the smaller area facing the Elizabeth Street is dark and dingy. There are usually fourteen or fifteen beers on tap and while most are craft beers, there are a few macros. The tap list has become quite static over time with only a few changing every so often. They have a reasonable bottle list and prices are reasonable. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable but of late the service has been poor. It’s probably has the better craft selection in the city area but there are other places to visit.“

“Brisbane Brewhouse has had a major revamp recently and offers better amenities for the drinker and diner. The rear casual bar and dining room, both inside and out, is quite nice and welcoming. There’s a range different beers on tap including their own range, some of the Brisbane Brewing Co beers, as well as guest beers, all at reasonable prices. Self-selected tasting paddles are available. Also there are a few different local and international beers available from the bottle shop. There are spirits and wines available as well. The food is extensive enough and quite tasty, at city prices. The staff, while friendly, don’t seem to be that attentive and some lack knowledge of the beer range.“

“Set in one inner suburban Brisbane’s entertainment/restaurant areas, at night there is usually no street parking within blocks. The brewery is located at ground level along one side while the bar area is on a slightly higher area and it all has an open, airy, industrial feel to it. Service is friendly and attentive with staff having a good knowledge of their products. There are usually eleven beers and a cider on tap beer, the beers include their own range as well as guest ones. They also serve wine and spirits and all prices are Brisbane standard. There is an adequate food menu with bar snacks, share platter food and full sized meals available, all prepared in the kitchen in full view of the seating area. All the food I’ve tried is tasty and prices are again Brisbane standard. The crowd of mixed ages always provides a vibrant congenial atmosphere.“

It is housed in an old warehouse which is long and rectangular in shape and has the brewery behind the bar. Service is adequate. The range of tap beer is usually their core range and a special/seasonal if available. They also serve wine but not spirits.
