“Delightful dark cavern housing picobrewery annex beershop. The brewery - 2 kettles and a couple of wooden barrels at your right, the bottles at your left side upon entering. The cavern - probably once the garage of the house - is kept under strict temperature and lighting control, for obvious purposes. The choice of beers - lead by the brewers' own preferences - varies from 300 to maybe a hundred, but is indeed keenly picked. The big displeasure is that the brewers' beers, as well as those from the spouse, are in very limited supply, seen the ultra-small batches produced. If you're in for those, best inform yourself at the brewery before venturing forward. But if you're lucky or adventurous, this is a really nice exploration. A car available is handy, I would dare to say.“

“Belgian Bottle Shop with an extensive collection of hard to find Belgian small breweries. Fast shipping, well packings.“

“New online shop set up by beer afficionado Kevin Devos in Kontich near Antwerp. Very reactive and helpful service, prices are on the steep side but selection is interesting for Belgian beers, with a number of one-offs (most in big bottles) I haven’t seen for sale online anywhere else; a few lesser known Dutch craft beers as well (apparently the owner’s wife is Dutch). If he can keep this up and perhaps expand his range into international craft, I’m sure he will become a strong player in the online bottleshop field very soon. I cannot judge the conditions of sending, as I opted to take my car and pick up the bottles at his home, enabling me to have a brief chat with the guy - and clearly beer is his passion, with references to it (glasses, packings, bottles) everywhere. Cheers Kevin, this is an interesting niche filler in the rapidly expanding virtual world of online bottle shops.“

“Located in a town between Antwerp and Brussels. They do foodpairing with Belgian beers. The quality of the food is really good. I loved my three course diner. First visit the beer selection was rather selected (04/2013) but last time (12/2014) they had some less known beers. Service was very friendly (second time I visited it was worse...), fluent and with a good timing. Nice explanation about the beers. Maybe it was because of the early hour (5pm, so before real evening service) but it really bothered me that personel was constantly walking through the restaurant with supplies for the kitchen or whatsoever. Interior is beautiful, tight modern, spacious. The prices are good for Belgium, surely for an evening service. It’s a lovely place with nice food for correct prices.“

“Forget the Grand Cabaret hype, this is the place to go nowadays when it comes to fine cuisine paired with nice beers. But let’s start at the beginning. This place between Antwerp en Brussels has a really nice, cosy, modern interior. We went there on a tuesday evening and the place was almost completly booked. The menu contains some really nice interesting stuff, all of them with a beer recommended. The beer selection isn’t overly impressive, but very decent with a few locals, a gueuze, etc. The food is really awesome. I had the pasta with coquilles, but the the burger, goat cheese and steak tartaar were also succulent. For dessert you could choose between a lot of sweets and cheeses selected by Van Tricht. Overall, a great experience, highly recommended and I’ll gladly go back ASAP!“
