Starts with rich roasted malt, licorice, date, fig and chocolate flavors as well as having a rich, full body and thick, robust mouthfeel. Finishes impeccably smooth with tart currant berry, vanilla, bourbon and oak flavors. Still excellent after cellaring with the currant adding some tartness to cut through the richness of it. AirForceHops (15089) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 9, 2016Got this is a trade quite awhile ago. Lost track of it. No matter, it still is really great. Aroma of weak bourbon on top of figs, sugar coated currents, raisins, and oak.
No oxidation is found which is very impressive. The bourbon portion of the blend preserved it nicely. Mild roasted backbone, oak, chocolate, vanilla hints, plenty of dark fruit. Nice.
