UPDATED: JAN 13, 2023 Cask @ Station Hotel, Framlingham. Clear brown with a small head. Has a light dark-malt aroma and a mildly sweet taste.

UPDATED: AUG 15, 2021 Cask: Poured a dark brown with an orange edge, off white. Aroma is malty, toffee. Taste is full malty, caramels, chocolate like richness.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2021 14/8/2021. Cask at the 24th Festival of Beer and Brewing at the Museum of East Anglian Life, Stowmarket. Pours clear pale mahogany brown with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma of malt, toffee, fruit, berry, chocolate, hint of tobacco. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Light body, slightly watery, soft carbonation.

Cask at The Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford in 2012. Deep Amber with a spotty white head. Aroma of berries, toasted malt and caramel. Dark and dried fruit flavours with biscuity malt sweetness.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2018 Sample@GBBF2018, London, with the Malmö crew - amber pour with off-white head. Medium sweet and toasted malty, some caramel, biscuit, dried fruit, medium body, sweet malty close.

@GBBF - dark beer with a poor head retention; aroma of tea, mineral and licorice; thin-bodied, smooth, clean and tasty; light sweet, malty, light toasted aftertaste of licorice; some bitterness and quite dry

Cask at GBBF 2018. Pours ruby with a white head. Aroma of malt. Sweet taste and finish.

Cask at the GBBF 2018 day 1 07/08/2018. A clear copper brown coloured pour with a a lasting beige head. Aroma is subdued apple, cake, nutty malts. Flavour is composed of brown sugars, died apple and raisin. Palate is middle of the road, semi sweet, decent cask condition.

Cask at GBBF '18, day 1, 07/08/18. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent lasting beige head. Nose is tobacco, light spice, toffee, biscuit. Taste comrpises brown bread, fruit cake, nutty, biscuit, straw. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent mild.

Handpull cask at the Grain & Hop Store, Cambridge. Mid-brown, clear and oh so translucent. Smells of chocolate malt, weak coffee and some dusty berry notes. Sweet chocolatey taste at first, but this ushers in a fruity hoppy bitter which clings on to the long finish. Chocolate milk and cherry in the aftertaste. Very watery body. Needs more character, but other than that it’s a fine mild.
