330ml can. Pours jet black with a thick tan head. Aroma: strong boozy orange and chocolate liqueur like notes. Taste: sweet chocolate orange is really prominent, very boozy and very much like a liqueur, slight woody barrel notes, but quite astringent. Body is full, carbonation soft, lovely smooth mouthfeel. The flavours are there and are nice, but the alcohol is too prominent to properly enjoy this one.

Intensa, deliciosa... aunque demasiada naranja en boca, especialmente en retrogusto...

Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Wyraźne akcenty pomarańczowo-czekoladowe, mocno palone, kawowe, minimalnie brakuje ciała. Bdb.

Can from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is huge Grand Marnier orange liquor, candied orange, dark chocolate, liquorice, Pim’s, some vanilla, more Grand Marnier, touch of coffee, and noticeable alcohol. Flavour is quite sweet with some booze. Body is full. I can see why this is highly regarded, but while this is definitely tasty, the Grand Marnier completely dominates the aroma with its sweet candied liquor booze. A bit too much in one direction for it to be a complete success to me.

Botella 33 cl IX cara ratebeer Asturias en Cimmeria 10..04..2017. Lote ilegible hasta 11..12..2016. (r113). Color negro intenso con espuma beige oscuro persistente. Aromas intensos licorosos naranjas y maltas algo tostadas. Suaves cacaos y vainillas. Increiblemente licorosa. Fantantica. Para repetir sin duda.

Svesse (8572) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - MAR 10, 2017
(Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 9 Dec 2016) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted, slightly fruity nose with notes of dark chocolate, coffee and citrus. Malty, roasted taste with cacao, coffee, chocolate, citrus, dried fruit and a generous cacao bitterness. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Very nice balance between chocolate, citrus, Grand Mariner and a certain alcohol glow. Excellent beer.

Can from Suds & Soda, Derby. Pours a deep brown to black colour with a medium mocha head. Aroma of dark chocolate, orange zest and peel, brandy, some liquorice, slight roasted malts, a little hazelnut, a hint of ash and subtle coffee. Taste of dark chocolate, orange, liquorice, some brandy and alcohol, slight roasted malts, coffee, a little hazelnut, a hint of caramel and subtle dark fruits. Full bodied and moderate carbonation. A hot, dry, caramel, chocolate, roasted bitterness in the finish. Chocolate orange through and through, with side notes of liquorice, hazelnut and caramel. Never tried Grand Marnier but will after this. Hot but really nice.

courtesy of Thomas Schneider - pitch black beer with a solid beige foam left; extreme aroma of Grand Marnier, figs and roasted malts, chocolate; full-bodied, oily palate; orange appear in a long finish with more chocolate and Grand Marnier - love it !
