(Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 9 Dec 2016) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted, slightly fruity nose with notes of dark chocolate, coffee and citrus. Malty, roasted taste with cacao, coffee, chocolate, citrus, dried fruit and a generous cacao bitterness. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Very nice balance between chocolate, citrus, Grand Mariner and a certain alcohol glow. Excellent beer.

Can from Suds & Soda, Derby. Pours a deep brown to black colour with a medium mocha head. Aroma of dark chocolate, orange zest and peel, brandy, some liquorice, slight roasted malts, a little hazelnut, a hint of ash and subtle coffee. Taste of dark chocolate, orange, liquorice, some brandy and alcohol, slight roasted malts, coffee, a little hazelnut, a hint of caramel and subtle dark fruits. Full bodied and moderate carbonation. A hot, dry, caramel, chocolate, roasted bitterness in the finish. Chocolate orange through and through, with side notes of liquorice, hazelnut and caramel. Never tried Grand Marnier but will after this. Hot but really nice.

Once upon a time Ive drunk it one friend tasting panel. Cant remember exact details of aroma and taste but nice composition of oranges and chocolate, very good, alcohol could be more hidden but except that very nice.

Can from Bridgend Services, Freuchie. Pours dark brown with dark reddish amber at the edges. Thin, effervescent head that fades fast. Very light tan in colour. Aroma has an instant whack of that Grand Marnier. Boozy. The orange oils come through. Bourneville chocolate. A fudgey, salted peanut butter note. Very light coffee roast. I like. Taste has some more of that orange upfront. Sweet with a little citric tang. Melted milk chocolate. Big booze. A definite saline savoury edge to this. Wood. Dries the palate. Bitter dark, dark, dark chocolate comes through towards the finish. More chocolate orange. Soft carbonation. Medium to full-ish mouthfeel. Prefer the aroma to the flavours going on here. Too much Grand Marnier perhaps??? Good but not the goodest.

33 cl can @RIP Laru camp, BBE 11.12.2026
Aroma is rather odd with sweetish malt and moldy cellar tones. Also mild chlorine tones. Flavour has strong chlorine tones, some liquor, sweet malt and licorice. Finishes with sweet liquor tones. Sweet and the marnier is rather front. Far from a balanced beer.

330ml can. Pours pitch black with a smooth brown head. Aroma of booze, liquor, dark chocolate, orange peel, ripe apples and syrup. Taste is stingy, boozy and slightly roasty with some liquor, loads of orange peel, hints of ripe apples, dark chocolate and coffee notes. Finish is smooth, slightly roasty and heavy with oranges, some dark chocolate, coffee, booze, liquor and ripe apples. A good beer ruined by too much Grand Marnier.
