UPDATED: JUN 20, 2023 Beer #20 of my 10,00th Beer Milestone Celebration! Mostly clear golden and lightly orange tinted body with a nice, but very fast-dying frothy white head that leaves a subtle lace on the side that isn't good looking nor ugly. Aroma of funky, soured, tart and spontaneously fermented, oaked fruit notes with raspberries, strawberries, bretty and cedar notes with a lot of yeast here of course and a bunch of dry, cleanser notes as well - very nice on the nose. Light to barely Medium-bodied; Tart and funky, bretty and especially woodsie foeder notes dominate with a lot of funk, a good deal of crisp dryness that is supported from the relatively light malts, but the sugars are at a great level, quite low, but definitely noticeable and showing a big fruity quality. Aftertaste shows some dryness of course with a lot of funk, a good deal of wood, cedar and bretty notes, but the floral, perfumey quality, perhaps from the hops, but definitely from the yeasts here is nice throughout and quite complex, as expected. Overall, a great beer, sort of as expected, as I love both of these two breweries, and you pretty much know what to expect when you open a JP beer, but this shows the great floral and especially fruity aspects of the usually wild and funky components of the yeast and barrels here. Great to sample, especially as very new purchase to me (but already 7 years old!) from Florida by way of Alaska through Michigan, perhaps one of the best trajectories of a beer, and ultimately sampled at home here in Washington, but great to have and well worth trying to find or perhaps hold on even longer if you already have a bottle of this one, but a funky, complex, easy-drinking beer that will probably excite most beer drinkers in some way, aside from those BMC folks. I sampled this 75 cL bottle as Beer #20 [of 21 - 10 (for 10,000) of Each side of the 10,000 Beer Milestone and the 10,000th itself!] of my 10,000th Beer Milestone, purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 31-December-2022 for US$14,99 (but as part of a 'buy two, get THREE free' deal), bottled in 2016 (the rest of the date has worn off on the label) as 'Blend 02A' and sampled at my house here in Washington on 19-June-2023.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2023 Strangeways Dallas. Short, hazy, medium gold, weak head. Sour fruit, strawberry, big veg & a little tropical. Taste is dry malt twang upfront, with some lemon, strawberry, raspberry & lingering grape skin. Slightly astringent & lovely. Thin, a bit of oxidation & rounded fruit. Fun.

UPDATED: APR 10, 2023 Bottle @ Caps & Taps. Hazed golden beer with a tall white head. Tons of funk on this with some basement, oak, mineral, and earth. Has a lot of those nice fruity esters of tropical fruit, melon, and grape. Also get a nice spicy and bitterness of lime rind, some tart berry, and a touch of peppery spice. Well done.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2020 Lightly hazy rich golden with a thin rocky white head. Interesting nose of light Brett funk and super weird and inviting and enticing aromas of umami and saucy Chinese food. Crisp bright flavor that’s semi dry But features some kind of Chinese food notes that’s saucy and sesame seed filled with umami and lemongrass. Semi dry Brett finish. Really unique.
