snowcrash000 (2281) - Cologne, GERMANY - MAY 4, 2024
UPDATED: MAY 4, 2024 Pours an opaque, pitch-black coloration with a small, creamy head. Smells of roasted, slightly caramelly malt and vibrant coffee aroma, with hints of chocolate and vanilla also coming through. Taste is an excellent balance of roasted, slightly caramelly malt, intense coffee, with notes of red berries and spice, chocolate and lighter vanilla and tobacco. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some roasted coffee, chocolate and vanilla lingering in teh aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation. This makes for quite an intense Coffee Stout, with those coffee aromas and flavors really coming through quite strongly here, with an intoxicating coffee aroma in the nose and vibrant coffee notes on the tongue. The vanilla is more laid-back here, very well-balanced, while the roasted malts add a certain bitterness as well. Overall, this makes for a fantastic brew, especially for the realtively low ABV. Intense and well-balanced, rich, yet easy-drinking with very a very strong coffee presence that still leaves the other flavors room to breathe.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2023 It pours very dark brown with a brown head. Head retention is low. The aroma features a blend of various coffees. It is quite distinct as the blends go. There are hints of vanilla. The flavors have strong coffee flavors with the vanilla being more noticeable than in the flavor. There are also some roasted elements. It has a medium body with a bitter aftertaste that has some touches of sweetness in it. Overall, a well done job on the blends of coffee with the other elements being in support.
