Decent "nothing special" dark ale, with medium to low intensity flavor, aromas. Still drinkable and without off-flavors. Lacks dubbel alike fruity candy notes.

An uncomplicated brown beer. Good looks, brown beer, with a nice white foam. medium sweetness. lively, creamy, medium body.

The commissioned ’Ezel’ beers traditionally represent a series of witbiers, but this dark version was added in 2007. Thick, yellowish, creamy, dense head, colour a brownish copper, clear and transparent, warm autumn-like with lively sparkling. Pasteurized, ’cooked’ aroma with further impressions of walnuts, tea, mango, cookie dough, witlof, grassy hops, coriander, nutmeg, cloves and dried leaves. Neutral onset, dried fruits, mild carbonation, smooth and supple mouthfeel, caramelly and slightly nutty malt base, light spicy notes, some floral hops in the finish but insufficiently bitter to my taste and even a little bit cloying. Recently tasted from tap and that was significantly better, though still rather bland.

Een heel lekker bruin bier met veel smaak aan. Een aanrader om eens te proberen.

Helder amber bruin bier. Weinig schuim. Karamel, mouten. Weinig body. Zoet, beetje kunstmatig. Prikkelend co2.

Fles gedeeld met bryanvdv en lachneger. Licht bruin van kleur. Ruikt naar appeltjes. Zoete smaak. Caramel smaak. Licht bittere afdronk. Wel weinig body.

UPDATED: SEP 24, 2014 Goudbruin van kleur( caramel) schuimkraag weinig tot niet. Smaak zoet met een bittertje , appel en hoestdrank. Had wel iets meer body mogen hebben.Gedronken met Bryan vdv en Pelmeister. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
