COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With a huge, Pacific Northwest hop aroma & character upfront, Storm King subsides into massive, roast malt complexity. More flavor than mere words can adequately describe. Rich and substantial, it will warm your heart.

Foffern (2167) - Bodø, NORWAY - JUN 1, 2018
Bottle at home. Three year old. Pours a dark brown to black colour with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark wood, chocolate truffles, pine and grass. Roasted flavour as well with coffee, oak, ash, dark chocolate and grass in a little dry ending. Has a silky mouth feel, medium to full body and a light to medium bitterness. Well roasted and the aroma is especially delicious.

Nische (3087) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 16, 2018
Bottle from Systembolaget, cellar stored. Deep Brown with beige head that disappears fairly quickly. Leathery with cocoa, a bit of cardboard and liquorice. Past it's prime, I'll need to revisit.

Sysitumma lasissa, jossa mukana tumman ruskea vaahto. Tuoksu on paksu, tumma ja täyteläinen. Mukana on kahvia, suklaata ja tummaa hedelmää. Maku on edelleen täyteläinen ja pitkäkestoinen. Paahtuneet maltaat maistuvat. Loistava IS kaiken kaikkiaan.

Very welcoming aroma: soft, lots of warm chocolate, only gently burt, some hops. Taste again lots of chocolate, followed by a little coffee. Distinctly astringen, grainy finish. Aftertaste bitter: hopbitter rather than burt malts. Lots of hops ( a bit too much for my taste, should learn to look up the IBU on the bottle first... ) and that yeasty taste I have noticed with moe Am. stouts. I liked it at first but now less so... Still very nice and tasty brew.

Onslow (1598) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - MAR 28, 2018
Pour from a 12oz bottle. Deep inky black brew with small tan head. Aroma of toasted malts, dark fruit, earth. Taste is sweet roast and dark fruits up front, coffee emerging towards the finish, a little boozy at the very end. Chewy palate. Tasty.

brigg (769) - New York, USA - JAN 24, 2018
(Bottle) Opaque black body with a small disappearing tan head. Aroma dark roast coffee, wood. Full bodied, foamy and chewy. Flavor is moderately sweet (some berry), and mild bitterness that lasts and builds a little as the sweetness fades; lots of woody notes and hint of smoke; mild chocolate; coffee and peat. A lot going on in the flavor; dynamic.

oobawa (2192) - Tennessee, USA - JAN 19, 2018
Lovely imperial stout, swinging from one extreme to the other, starting with a rich, gentle, indulgent sweet chocolate-and-caramel front before doing a one-eighty and plowing straight into a prolonged, clingy, palate-scouring bitter back end. Mostly eschews the dark fruits found in most impy stouts for anise, dark roast coffee, and hints of vanilla among the brief sweet streak, but the real treasure is the prolonged, biting finish, dry as hell yet still dusted with cocoa and roasty malt. Pours a dark, dark brown that grows black, with a fleeting off-white head and ample lacing. Surprising amount of caramel on the nose, not a whole lot of chocolate and roasted notes. Creamy texture has just a hint of alcohol warmth. Delicious.
