Did anyone see the Obama clip from the G20 summit shown on the most recent Daily Show, in which Obama is given a Hobgoblin beer and he refuses to drink it warm, because its been given to him by the British Prime Minister. This American idea of Brits drinking "warm" beer is just mind boggling to me. |
Obama insulted our closest allies? That is unfortunate. |
He should have had a Canadian Beer - everybody knows its much stronger than American beer |
not an insult, just a somewhat ignorant misunderstanding that most Americans perpetuate. For the record, he brought the PM a Goose Island 312, so I gotta give him props at least for reppin’ a local craft brewery of his home town. |
for clarity’s sake, he did not refuse to drink the beer. He accepted the beer but made some side comment about refusing to drink it warm. |
I hear it all the time from customers, "Did you know that in Britain they serve beer warm?".....Gives me a chance to educate them... |

we were all uneducated until somebody educated us. |
the British Prime Minister was sure to tell Barry that the Hobgoblin was 5.7% ABV, though. |
Originally posted by DYCSoccer17 make that 5.2% |
Originally posted by JK I think handing someone a hobgoblin is more offensive. |
