Panama

I’ll be going to Panama for a few days. Staying at Hard Rock. Any general recommendations (beer or otherwise)?

The local brewpub La Rana Dorada has 2 locations, with around six of their beers on tap. One or two passable brews are among them. The Old City location has a better atmosphere. Istmo is also not bad for a bar, with imported bottles and pool tables.

What trapped said is all I know about the Panama City beer scene.

I was there last July, and I didn’t see much change from my previous visit in 2014, so I don’t expect that much have changed.

La Rana Dorada is just a brew pub, but there is not much else.

Go to the bar at the top of the Trump tower. Best view in Panama.

Istmo used to be a brewpub with some mediocre beers. La Rana’s were a little better when I visited last (2013).

I found a bar across from Hard Rock called Red Lion. They have about 5 Panama craft beers in bottles and a bunch of other Merchant du Vin stuff.
