Breckenridge Summer Pils
Decent pils. Aroma was pretty weak. Pilsner malt and earthy hops. Pour was a nice clear light gold with a one finger white head. Taste was decent. Grainy sweet malt in the front with a little bitter hops in the finish. Very wet finish. Light carbonation. Could benefit from being a little thinner and drier.

Hint of whiskey flavor (and plenty of aroma) from barrels makes for great taste. Except for the whiskey, reminiscent of some Belgian Trappist ales.

Breckenridge Mountain Series: Salted Caramel Brown Ale
This one has a really nice brown pour. Aroma is malty. The flavor is surprisingly salty and I like it. They did a good job with that. The flavors are more dark malts with the usual caramel, chocolate notes. A little roasted. The saltiness is superb and I haven’t had a beer quite like this one.

Breckenridge Brewery Lane Series: Barrel Aged Imperial Cherry Stout
750ml corked bottle. Rich chocolate malt aroma with notes of cherry, whiskey, a bit of roast and vinous red wine. Pours dark brown with thin mocha brown head that has some retention and good lacing. Starts with rich chocolate malt and a bit of roast as well as a bit of cherry. Finishes smooth with excellent whiskey notes, oak and a bit of vinous red wine flavors. Wonderful.

Breckenridge Nitro Series: Orange Cream Ale
Can: Clear gold with a ton of bubbles that stick to the inside of the glass and a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma of grain malt, orange. Taste is nitro-creamy, light orange malt, grain malt. It’s ok.....but nothing really pops....not a lot of orange, really, and less Nitro action than you’d expect....aside from the initial "whoosh" when popping the top, it was pretty feeble.....some different kind of widget....not the usual mothball thingy....more like a disc stuck to the bottom of the can. Fairly bland in taste and SFX.

Breckenridge Mango Mosaic Pale Ale
Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours translucent gold with a finely bubbled white head. Aroma is tropical - and for some reason my brain says guava rather than mango. Med body. Flavor is somewhat mango, but guava dominates for me. A mystery. But it turns out well in the end. (Watch Shakespeare in Love). Nice tropical flavors, but it’s bitter. Works nicely for me.

Pint-ish can. Orange aroma with notes of cream and light crackery malt. Pours clear pale golden colored with one finger of pillowy white head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with cream and cracker malt flavors as well as a silky smooth mouthfeel. Finishes very smooth with fake tasting orange flavor. Good attempt at a creamsicle but I’ve had better.

Breckenridge 471 Small Batch Bourbon Barrel Aged IPA
Boozy and big and mellow with caramel as an after thought and a little dark fruit almost like rubbing alcohol. Chestnut and approaching hop profile that does not get in. A plum pudding as another wafting thought before the abv takes over again. Some syrup. Interesting enough.

Breckenridge I Am Brewt!
Clear golden with a large foamy white head. Nice light aroma that’s biscuity and pale with Pilsen malts and a light grassy touch. Smooth lagered and clean flavor that’s lightly noble hoppy and pilsner blonde and grainy. Super well made.

Probably my favorite of the 14 beers sample today, or at least top 3. It’s strong, hoppy but effervescent like a witbier. Could definitely explore a full bottle.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a golden color with a medium sized foamy white head that left good lacing. The aroma was yeasty and a bit tangy with faint fruity hops. The flavor was yeasty and dryish with cracker and crisp fruity hops. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

Breckenridge Brewery Lane Series: Barrel Aged Imperial Cherry Stout
Oh Baby! Had this on tap at Breck Brewery in Littleton. For a barrel aged Imperial Stout, this one stands up with the best. Incredible depth and complex flavor. Definitely taste the Cherry. This stands up w barrel aged Yeti, Big Bad Baptist and the high gravity offerings of Avery that kick my butt. I know that brewing a beer like this costs about 3 times as much as a regular Ale or Stout. Throw in the whiskey AND port cask aging and you have a masterpiece!

Breckenridge 471 Small Batch IPA
Had this brew on tap at Breck Brewing in Littleton. This is a malty, tasty, strong IPA. Carmel in color. There’s a lot of IBU in this brew, but not as much nose or finish as some. Not arguing w the brewmaster’s description, about more hoppiness than you’ve ever tasted, butthe maltiness nicely counterbalances the generous hopping of this DIPA. Tastes like a hoppy Imperial pale ale. Amazing!

This is good. Not too sweet or sour. A bit sticky in the finish. Don’t know that I can recognize the whiskey, maybe a little of the port. Good but not worth the price tag.

Breckenridge Denver Mountain Series: Salted Caramel
Brown with nice head and the smell of caramel. Very much caramel with a hint of the salt and balanced out nicely to not be overly sweet. Really good brew but not exactly what I am wanting when it is almost 100 degrees. Noticed this said it is a winter seasonal and I just found this sampler pack on the shelves this week. Wow our distributors are really on the ball around here. Should have had this on the shelves say back in December when it was about to be winter. Not sure how well this will keep but think I will set the other two bottles back for when it’s a cold day.

Breckenridge Mango Mosaic Pale Ale
Slightly hazy golden brew with nice head and the aroma of mango. There is a distinct taste of mango along with a bit of hop bitterness. Really enjoyed the three bottles that was in the sampler pack. Light enough that it could be enjoyed all day long on a hot summers day so it would be nice to find just this in a twelve pack.

Breckenridge Mango Mosaic Pale Ale
Whoa - enticing aroma fades into a bitter taste! Pours gold w/ a white head & lots of lacing. The aroma is a robust blend of mango & citrus hops. The flavor surprisingly has minimal mango & an abundance of dry hops making it not so smooth on the palate. Very much a pale w/ only a miniscule twist. Decent.

Breckenridge 471 Small Batch IPA
Bottle. Amber colored with a big foamy off-white head that has good retention. The aroma is decent with pine, citrus and toffee. The taste was a bit of a letdown, I found this bitter just for bitters sake--no real hop flavor--like they dumped a boatload of magnum in the boil at flame on. The principal flavor was overly sweet caramel, and very bitter caramel at that. Bit of candied cardboard in there too. The palate was medium and a bit sticky. Overall: Im sure this would have been a first rate IPA in 2007, but today it just does not tickle my fancy..
