[Wood Aging] Chêne Français
French Oak barrels are usually toasted inside and are commonly used for wine aging first. They impart flavors that are mellower, smoother and sweeter than American Oak. They tend to add spice and vanilla flavors. It is more absorbent than other oak species and invades deeper during maturation. It also adds bitter, spicy on the wood effect on taste.
