Inspiré de ce rocher en perdition au large des Îles, Corps Mort est un vin d’orge salin et robuste. Hazy and veiled amber color with nice activity. Creamy beige 3 finger head, lasting around 5-10 minutes, with faint legs, poor swirl construct, but strong lacing. Flavors of fish, salt, maple, toffee, dark grains, berries, plums, raisins, wood, clove, herbal spices. Thick estery fruit sweetness, slightly leathery with a tobacco feel, bitter spices and hops. Slick oily medium body with soft prickly and crispy carbonation. Medium to strong strength finish, rich sweet ester fruits, burnt salty caramel, some oak, leafy peppercorn hops, ending with delicate smoked salmon. Superb intensity and highly complex. Not excessive, very well balanced. The salt fits amazingly well with the malt sugars, like salty toffee. Doesn’t feel 11% at all, easily drinkable. Highly delicious, but the smell suffers a little. Too bad the body is a little too dull, lacks roundness and smoothness. A cross between a Barleywine and Rauchbier, a really good match and the best of both worlds! Highly recommended barleywine, one of my favorite. Overall superb quality craft.

Poured a deep ruby-amber with a white head. Light sweet barley and cherry aroma. Light cherry and light smoked character, and a touch of saltiness towards the finish. Leaves you thirsty for another sip.

From my brother: pours copper with a white head. Aroma is lightly smoky, caramel, loads of malt, booze, and hops. Definitely is a bit of a rauchbier, but the barley wine aspect is strong with this one. Heavy body and huge taste. Fairly bitter. Lingering and boozy aftertaste. Much. Not totally my thing... but for those who like it...

341ml bottle. Hazy copper with a foamy off-white head. Flavors are fresh wort, smoke, barley sugar and alcohol with fruity, grainy and salty notes. Full body, soft carbonation, oily texture.

It pours murky copper with amber highlights; the head is beige and mousse like. The aroma of: Sherry, toffee, peat smoke, and raisins. The taste is medium sweet that finishes mildly astringent and medium bitter; the aroma notes carry through with some charcoal and iodine. The palate is heavy bodied with basically no carbonation; the finish is long. Overall, it’s the nanny’s bitchtits!
