COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with loads of malt and Belgian yeast, Pere Jacques is a wonderfully fruity, malty ale. Pere Jacques’ complex flavors stand shoulder to shoulder with the Belgian Dubbels enjoyed in the world’s finest beer bars. At the dining table it’s the perfect alternative to a glass of vintage port.

Notes of plums, raisins, pears, almonds, leather. some cardboard though and not overly vinous. Taste is sweet with medium duration and a dry spicy finish.

My favorite beer of all-time. I cleaned St. Louis when I heard Goose Island stopped brewing. I have one case left. Saving for special times. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

ibrubeer (452) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - DEC 29, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2017 Bottled on 101505. Old bottle. Aroma is nice, plum, raisin. Color is chestnut, no head (old bottle), reddish tint, clear. Really nice flavor though! Very reminiscent of a port...plum, raisins, caramel, a little bready. Smooth. Med body, but still a little lively. Awesome beer! I hope I still have another one in the cellar!

UPDATED: JUL 1, 2017 2009 bottle from McHughs. Bought this a while ago. Might be the oldest beer I?ve had. Pours reddish brown with tan head which disappears. Lots of raisin, Christmas cake, cinnamon, chocolate, soft leather on nose. Smooth sweet date, raisin, cake, some raspberry in flavour. Short wood, earth slight cocoa finish. Delicious beer and a real treat.
