Worn rockn roll place with several levels and seating areas, good vibes, some good bottles from almost local brewery (Bådin) at my visit, tap selection was mainly Mack.

Visited Jan 2016. Around 10 taps pouring mainly Mack beers plus a couple of guest beers ( BrewDog on my visit) Good selection of bottles. TV’s showing sport if you’re into that sort of thing. Friendly staff, worth a visit if in town

Visited in July 2015. I only had one beer during my brief visit, a bottle of Bådin Vestfjorden. The young woman behind the bar was very friendly. The place was not crowded on an early Wednesday evening. This place seems to be popular among younger customers. Centrally located in the city center. Next time I will try one of the hamburgers.

A bunch of beers on tap and a decent bottle selection, but we visited on a day when renovations were being done so the selection wasn’t as good. Nothing overly special in the way of bottles, so I wasn’t excited over anything. Prices are exorbitant as usual for Norway and Tromsø even more so. Friendly service. Didn’t try the burgers since we are vegan. Seems quite overrated a place. Ølhallen a few minutes away is way better than this.

Established 1991 as Blå Rock Café. 7-8 taps, 50+ bottles of beers. Tasty hamburgers, try the Motörhead-burger. Quick service, friendly staff.

When you enter the cafë you’ll find a small room with dark wooden furniture and rock posters on the walls as well as the ever present TV. Small bar with 8 taps. 5 of them from Mack, 1 Kona, 1 Erdinger, 1 cider. 47 bottlles the majority international majors but luckily also some good Norwegian micros. 1st and 2nd floor dominated by small round tables and another bar at 1st level. Nice soft rock played at a pleasan - low - level. Staff friendly, knowing and humorous.Had a burger. More spicy and better than expected. Only disadvantage: The price level, but I guess this is just because I am in Norway.

Rated as number one pub in Tromsø, but that was before Ølhallen made their massive upgrade. A cool rock pub but not an impressing beer selection. Some interesting bottles though and a guest tap.(Visited July 10th 2014)

Nice place, with decent selection both on tap and bottles. Rock music, but not too loud. Tasted their burger, were pretty good. Correct service, worth a visit.

Appropriately named Blå Rock Café, from its location in a pale blue, wooden building in the heart of Tromsø, Blå Rock Café may not strike you as the ultimate pub - with its rather rough rock image. But it has the best draft beer selection in Tromsø (though not very impressive by Oslo standards), sporting Sam Adams Boston Lager, Marston’s Oyster Stout, Erdinger Hefeweizen and a very good Mack micro brew: Vinterland IPA. Oh, and some Mack lagers of course. The bartender seemed reasonably up to date on their beers and could even suggest other good beer places in Tromsø. Yes, they did play a lot of classic rock, but the sound level wasn’t too high, so I found myself tapping the rhythm to Iggy Pop and Velvet Underground while enjoying some decent draft beers. They also serve hot food, but I never got around to try it - but it smelled good :) When I return to Tromsø, I’ll start at Blå Rock Café - this is my kind of place. Visited: February 28, 2013

Nice rock feeling to it. Lots of nice posters (some signed) on the wall. Mostly British beers in the selection. they don’t only have lagers on tap. Actually a few different beer styles on tap such as weiss, stout. Busy at weekends and at the happy hour on Mondays when tap lager beer is 49 NOK.
