AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 larsga (7693) - Oslo, - MAY 12, 2012Medium white head. Slightly hazy coppery body with carbonation. Fruity vinegary aroma with mealy notes. Dry-sweetish, and faintly acidic, intensely fruity (persimmon?) taste with mealy notes. Mid-to-light body. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry-acidic orangey tropical fruit aftertaste with mealy metallic notes. Lovely! Well-balanced and harmonic, and very drinkable. The acdity is very subtle for a lambic, I must say. Whether you can taste the persimmon or not I can’t say, having never tasted a persimmon. (0.35l draft at brewery.)
willisread (7331) - Detroit, Michigan, USA - SEP 19, 2015Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a clear, light gold with a small carbonated head that leaves a ring around the edge. Light funk aromas with some pear, grape cobwebs and horse blanket. Taste is more of the same, good funk but kind of one dimensional. Nice and dry with active carbonation. Almost like a dry saison. I like it. Not really sour or tart at all, just basement saison-like with a touch of pear. Very interesting.
TimE (8459) - Tokyo, JAPAN - APR 18, 2015light golden color. No nose, but the mouth is full of funk. Cobweb, barnyard , funk. Wow. It has no body and totally lacks tartness, which would take this to the next level. Still very interesting.
KansaiBeerLvrs (8492) - Kyoto, JAPAN - APR 10, 20145% On tap at Eni-bru as part of a sampler set. A clear copper gold with minimal head. A very floral nose for a med-light bodied beer. The taste is fruity, I’d probably class this as a golden ale you get plum, peach, lemon fruit notes with a hearty dose of malt base. Well balanced!

330 ml bottle bought at CitySuper in IFC, Central.
Translucent light matt golden colour with dirt-like yeast sediments; One finger head and white foam which last for 2 minutes; Very good sticky lacing and near zero carbonation; Fragrant, dry, sweet and tart aroma of sparkling white wine, with grape skins, persimmon, funk, brett, malt and grass; Pleasant sweet taste of lager malt, with strong white wine tartness, dryness, brett, light persimmon, molasses, spices, light cloves, light liquorices, citrus and sharp grass; Mid to light body, thin but slightly slick palate; Mouth Feel is quite close to a gueuze, with very balanced sweetness and champagne tartness. What’s more, the funky and spicy brett-like wild yeast reminds me of Orval. Nice! Overall taste is very organic and lively! Hoppiness is light citrus and sharp grass in nose and taste. Also light but sharp liquorices to provide a satisfying low bitter finish; Dry after taste, winey and spicy to mouth.
Comments: This is a really enjoyable wild ale, with very balanced sweetness and tartness, excellent and lively brett a la Orval, and dry champagne palate makes it just as enjoyable as to many good lambics. Enjoyable and recommended.
biirusaikou (2704) - - OCT 13, 2013Straw, orange, aromas. Fruity cereals flavor, mild banana, bread, peppery finish. Pleasant fruity ale, with a bit of a white character.

Ungstrup (51382) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - AUG 28, 2013Bottled. A hazy yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of fruits (is it persimon?) lemons, and brettanomyces. The flavor is sweet with an acidic edge and notes of fruis, brettanomyces, and straw, leading to a dry finish. Thanks KyotoLefty for sharing.
yespr (55601) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 28, 201333 cl bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Fruity and light yeasty. Sweet, toasted malty and light funky. Bitter, toasted and lingering fruity. Mild bitter too.
jonno (2750) - WESTERN SAHARA - MAR 9, 2013Not a lot gaijin on here unfortunately. Not really wild, funky or weird. It’s a straight forward ale looking for some personality. A touch saisonesque, but really pretty uneventful.
