Rich gold, self-supporting tight off-white head. Amazingly perfume floral aroma, backed by some soft malts. Rich grainy malts, husky bitterness. Soft palate with gentle carbonation. Nice biting bitter finish - quite brutal! Amazing lager. The bitter tingle lasts forever.
JorisPPattyn (14337) - Wilrijk, BELGIUM - APR 16, 2022UPDATED: APR 16, 2022 I Sampled as B Knoblauch Schammelsdorfer Lagerbier Ungespundet/B Draught /I Very creamy, dense, stable, cream-coloured head over cold hazed golden beer. Fresh yeast notes, bit sulphury, as an open fermenting vessel. Notes of fruity esters (pear, banana, quince,...) and fresh white bread. Very good bitterness, I herb /I. Malt underneath, not much sweetness, but lots of bready notes. Yeast, but nowhere an underfermented hint. Some banana notes left, and any sweetness is biscuity. Yeastslick, good carbonation, light to medium bodied. A necessary drink to reappraise how beer really ought to taste. Down with all vanilla, tonka, crème brulée and other marshmallow stouts!
