COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jack Hammer has been single handedly ripping it up for quite some time. Now this IPA, has spawned four hammer head off-springs. Black Hammer is the second of our super-charge hyped up hybrids.

Dark malt and American hops unite to bring a new age of bitterness. Pithy grapefruit and resin combine with a dark chocolate and roasty coffee hit to deliver a resonating bitterness that goes beyond IBUs.

Keg at BrewDog Shepherds Bush in 2016. Near black with a white head. Aroma of pine, resin and dark fruits. A little roastiness in the flavour, with a good heap of citrus and pine hop bitterness.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2019 Live at Brewdog Tower Hill, black with a lacing crema and a nose piney toasty nose. Beautifully smooth and hoppy, then a creamy burnt rexture brings cocoa hints and a firm dry and vegetal bitterness. Lovely.

Can. Opaque chestnut, brown cream. Fairly fish-saucy roast, lavender, strong minerals, metallic roast. Medium light body. Chocolate roast, grandmas hop soap, licorice, salty dry, salted fatty chocolate finish. Older can, perhaps the fresh beer was more harmonic, this is just a mess.

Dec. '16. A 0.33 l can, thanks Marko for sharing! It poured a hazy dark brown body with a small head. Fine malty and hoppy aroma, lightly roasty with lots of caramel from one side and light pine, herbal and grassy from another. Complex. Flavor was lightly bitter, lemon peel, but also sweetish caramel and roasty brown sugary which gave it more cloying and fuller body despite being much lighter than nose would indicate. Finished in a long manner, with roasted notes being emphasized. Alcohol was dangerously hidden. Nice, tasty, balanced BIPA.

Jack black colour, very nice barrel characteristics (not sure if its barrel aged). Nice velvety mouthfeel with lovely bitterness, complemented with tingling carbonation; very slight roastiness.

Keine leicht trinkbares Bier. Nunja!

Can of 33cl, in a Tumblker glass; from the fridge. Why a so low overall (8/20) ? Because, yes it’s a good beer, stouty one, but clearly not a Black IPA. We are more in front of a stout beer, with her dark brown colour and milky coffee head. Aroma and taste havre notes of sweetness and chocolate, but the hop is not that present. Go for it, but not a full price.
