kraddel (10779) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - JUN 30, 2017
Pours semi-clear blonde, regular sized and medium stable white head. Very much visual carbonation. Smell is yeasty, some banana notes, some orange peels ( both seem to be esther-driven) mild maltyness ( bready) and a touch of grassy hops. Mild funkyness. Taste is very unexpected, a mild tartness. dry, metallic, very yeasty ( banana ) but much goes lost thnx to the metallic and tartness. Very weird. might be infected, but it’s definately not like another infected beer I ever had. If this is an infection, it is - as far as I recall - a first from this Brewery ( and I drank a lot of their beers ) . if not, I am clueless what the idea must have been here.. the tastes do totally not combine, its not what any sour fan would love, and to acidic for a non-sour fan. Also, strongly overcarbonated... Not great !

75cl bottle from Auchan, chugged while watching A Monster Calls. Pours a misty golden yellow, good white head. Lightly floral aroma. Taste has an initial floral character which fades to a standard doughy malt belgian blonde base. Pleasant, but no hommelbier.

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2015 Bottle, 33cL. Home. Ugly label... "WordArt is my friend". An orange hazy beer with yellow hues ; beautiful big white foamy head ; good retention. Fruits (citrus), biscuit, herb, light roast, light metallic. Light sweet, light to medium bitter dry, light warming. Medium body, thin silky texture, high carbonation, herbal dry bitter finish, warming note. Overall, pleasant belgian ale ; nice texture ; a bit too dry.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 18/06/2017.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons, Calais. Estery, malty Belgian blonde. It’s what Belgium does well, a Belgian ale so distinctive. Took 2 decants to get the carbonation down to an acceptable level. Pretty good peppery hop on the finish. Yep just a good Belgian ale. I like the yeast, the mouthfeel, the fruit the esteriness the peppery finish.

from Au Grain d’orge, Crissier - hazy dark blond beer with a modest head retention; aroma of esters and bretts, notes of cane sugar; sweet and medium-bodied, no bitterness, residual sweetness and long fruity estery notes with hints of corn and pear

Bottle: Poured a murky yellow with a fluffy white head. Aroma is pungent, sour, grain. Taste is a steep bitter grain, might be past its best buy date. Not a very pleasant aftertaste!
