COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oerbier means original, from the spring. This beer has been brewed in small scale (5 gallons). Oerbier is brewed from no less than 6 malts. Poperinge Golding hops in flowers and a special yeast which makes it a little tart, especially with aging. At the brewery we have excellent cellars which have a constant temperature of 8°C and allow Oerbier to age at its best. After a couple of years Oerbier tastes like it should have been blended with wine … Oerbier has been refermented in the bottle and contains a layer of yeast, having vitamins B. NAT en STRAF on the glasses means WET and STRONG, a warning for the 7.5 vol. alcohol content. The little person on the glasses is the Oerbier man, a simple creature who holds a brewers fork in his right hand, symbolizing the work and science, but looking to the other side, the result of all this, the glass of (Oer)beer. The artwork on the poster is a wallpainting found in Spain, (Altamira) and is considered by art lovers as being the best prehistoric art work (30,000 years BC). On the other hand we have Oerbier started in 1980, going on with the tradition. For more information on Oerbier's recent recipe history, see the following article: http://www.bunitedint.com/Products/de_dolle/oerbier-re_evolution.html

bdleedahl (3769) - , Saxony, GERMANY - SEP 27, 2020
UPDATED: SEP 27, 2020 This beer is 8 months before expiration, but it has clearly been handled less than ideally. Very carbonated, a little stale, bordering on gushing. If it were fresh and lively the dark candi sugar I’m sure would shine through beautifully. Online beerwulf

huineman (1102) - Madrid, SPAIN - SEP 13, 2020
UPDATED: SEP 13, 2020 A brownish ruby pour with a tan head. Aroma is red wine, saccharin, vanilla, milk chocolate, red berries. Taste is dry, with a rather dense mouthfeel. Medium-lasting.

Listigovers (2137) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 4, 2020
UPDATED: SEP 4, 2020 Pours a hazy brown and with a slightly orange tint. Smells yeasty and with a dark fruit smell, brown bread, crust, a lot of malts. Taste is full, fruity dark malts with a light sweetness, complex with prunes, grape and wine barrel. A very yeasty beer with a full body and long aftertaste, nice sparkle in the body for a rich and creamy texture. The head is thin but it seems to last forever. A lot of character in this rich classic Belgian ale.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2020 Shared with my bro on a surprise visit after they passed by for a quick touring of the city, a nice strong Belgian ale, the way anybody should make it.

Niam (40) - MOUSCRON, BELGIUM - AUG 1, 2020

puboflyons (4291) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 6, 2020
UPDATED: JUL 6, 2020 From the 330 ml. bottle. An attractive dark brown pour with a fading fading tan head.Decent aroma of molasses, caramel, and basically a good malt sensation. Maybe raisins. Medium body. The flavor is malt forward. Overwhelmed with a malt sweetness and a kind of cardboard thing.

heutsie (268) - - JUN 11, 2020
