Six months in a Barbera wine barrel give time for this beer to be eaten up by the yeasts living in the wood, maturing it and rounding it out. Pleasantly sour, a great mixed fermentation beer.

Cheeseboard (5545) - Somerset, ENGLAND - MAY 4, 2021
UPDATED: MAY 4, 2021 Keg at Arrogant Sour held at Moor Beer Co in Bristol July 2019. Pours golden yellow with a slim white head. Aroma: intensely vinous, oak, lactic acid, gueze-y vibes. Taste: dry with low bitterness, light acetic, vinous, spicy funk, oak, earthy. Light to medium bodied with almost no carbonation

ozzatoadisback (657) - ITALY - JUN 26, 2020
UPDATED: JUN 26, 2020 Pours a hazy, very light orange, with a large-bubbled white head that recedes pretty quickly and leaves just a few hints of lacing. Nice aroma shows a soft cereal base, flowery notes and maybe a hint of honey sweetness. Quite distinctive sourness, with strong funky/rustic notes (salami peel most prominent) and lighter lactic notes. Taste is rich too: cereal malts base, flowery notes, citric notes (cedar most noticeable). Sourness is again fairly distinctive, with lactic and funky/rustic notes as per aroma (now more 50%/50%). Overall, half sweet and half sour in both taste and aftertaste. Light to medium bodied with quite light carbonation, in an overall easy mouthfeel. Fragrant and tasty but not that refined (notes are all there but a bit confused/not distinct). Would otherwise have been a really excellent sour. Still, a satisfying experience.

Cellar, wood, grapes, lemony, golden with no head, light body, carbonation is practically absent, again woody notes, strong but balanced sourness...good and intense.

Light amber, quite pale, actually. No head. On the nose, a lot of brett. Dry, blueberry, fruity, touch of wood, nice tartness. A rounded, balanced sour/wild.

Bottle at PIB 2017, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out vinous notes, light funk, and some light wild yeast. Flavour is similar, with a pleasant funk character and wild yeast. Light citrus skins with a wild character on the finish. Very nice.

Drinked at B & Bi, Salerno (Italy). One of the best italian sour beers. I had only 3 pints .... shame

Barrelliere (2) - Salerno, ITALY - MAY 6, 2017 does not count
Bevuta alla spina al Bi. & B. a Salerno il 05/05/17. Schiuma bianca, sottile ed evanescente. Colore oro. Aroma vinoso, acido lattico, frutta a pasta bianca, agrumi. Al palato sembra un lambic giovane, acida, agrumata, note funky, legno, buona astringenza finale. Armonica. Da bere come fosse una session sour. Ottima.
