thegreenrooster	3 Blue Heron Tappers Tripel Pour is a almost clear gold with a large white head. Aroma is fruity esters and white sugar. Flavor is pretty much the same fruity yeats esters but this is hella sweet. Lots of white sugar and honey on the finish. Going in the right direction but a bit too sweet. Saturday, August 14, 2021

deyholla	3.8 Blue Heron Rauch 'em Sock 'em American Ale Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2017. Pours a near clear amber gold with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice smoke note with a bit of grain and straw backing. Flavor has a nice sweet smoke note with grains and straw supporting Saturday, May 18, 2019
JK	3.5 Blue Heron Rauch 'em Sock 'em American Ale Great Taste of the Midwest 2017. A well hopped American pale ale with lots of smoke. Amber color. Hops and smoke work well in this beer. Grass and flowers with smoke. An unusual experiment that worked well. Monday, November 27, 2017
Bulk_Carrier	3.7 Blue Heron Paint The Town Brown Ale Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a semi-dark copper color with a finger’s worth of off white foamy head that slid off and formed some spotty lace. The aroma had some toast, roasted nuts, floral and piney hops and some earthiness at the end. The flavor moderately blended the sweet to the roast with the bitterness of the hops making a decent play in the overall scheme of the balance of things. Fairly nice aftertaste of the stated aromas. Finish was somewhat sweet. The palate was about medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Decent carbonation. ABV felt fine. Overall, pretty good brown I wish I could get again. Bulk_Carrier	3.4 Blue Heron Irish Red Ale Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a semi-dark copper color with an off white foamy head that slowly dissolved. Spider web lace. The aroma had a clean sweet caramel/toffee malt, some cherry sweetness, floral hop character and a little bit of earthy/herbal hoppiness. The flavor was moderately sweet with a little bit of red delicious apple coming in for a decent blend. Aftertaste was semi-sweet along with the finish. The palate was between light and medium bodied with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Good smoothness along my tongue. Overall, I think I liked this one for me as it really wasn’t much of an Irish red. Sure is different if anything. Saturday, May 20, 2017
Bulk_Carrier	3.8 Blue Heron Cheeky Brown Ale Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a sturdy thick brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a good pace. Light stringy lace. The aroma had a good blend of toast, caramel/toffee malts, light nuts, little bit of cocoa powder. Ends with some grassy hops. The flavor leaned towards the sweetness of the previously mentioned aromas. Mild aftertaste of the malts. Sly toasty finish. The feel was between light and medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. ABV felt as projected and the carbonation felt good as well. Overall, pretty good brown ale worthy of more pours if I could get it. Tuesday, May 2, 2017

Aroma is rather citrusy with grapefruit, oranges, mild floral hops and balanced out nicely with sweet caramel malt. Brigadier	3.6 Blue Heron Brandy Oaked Black Belgian Wheat On tap at the GTMW 2013 The line at Blue Heron was pretty short and low key so during a lull I stopped by to see what was going on. This is an interesting experiment that almost works. That said I would no issues ordering a pint if I were ever in the vicinity. Aroma / Appearance - The rich black base is sticky with sheer legs which is amazing for a 6% beer. Brandy, cola, and wheat mix sweetness and malts. The wit aspects feels as if they’ve been taken over by the French oak. Flavor / Palate - Wheat and malt drive a strong first impression. The brandy emerges within a minute or so. The result tastes more like a mixed drink than a beer. Perhaps this should have been one of the Kuhnhenn Carnivale taps. Tuesday, September 3, 2013
ElGaucho	3.6 Blue Heron Stormy's Revenge IPA Draft at brewpub. Hoppy aroma. Amber body with little to no head and no visible carbonation. Leaves good lace, however. Hops are balanced with a considerable malt backbone. Some pepper. A little bit of harshness on the finish, but not in a bad way. Very tasty. Gets a little sloppy as it warms, but a very good effort overall. Saturday, February 16, 2013

Ughsmash	3.5 Blue Heron Stranger In The Dark On tap at GTMW. Poured deep brown with a dark creamy beige head. The aroma picked up sweet vanilla and chocolate with a nice, soft feel to it. The flavor found toasty chocolate and black malts at the core, with some malt-inspired sourness on the edges.. became a little sharp on the finish. Medium-bodied with higher, filling carbonation on the palate.. good except for some odd sourness. Friday, October 12, 2012
Ughsmash	3.7 Blue Heron Possibly Wobbly On tap at GTMW. Poured murky peach with an easily-resuscitated beige head. The aroma was decidedly warm and English-inspired, with toffee and bready malts leading.. spicy fruits, black pepper, and a hit of clove around.. warm and welcoming. The flavor found warm toffee malt at the core, with caramel showing as the drink progressed.. fruity bitterness and peppery alcohol through the otherwise sweet, warm finish.
