3.5 Leinenkugels Creamy Dark 12oz bottle. No longer called Creamy Dark, just Dark Lager now. Sweet, medium bodied. Pretty reasonable example of the style, I have for sure had worse. Rather big chocolate tones. Heavy roast, almost Stout like before an easy lager finish. Pretty good. Friday, June 14, 2024

3.6 Leinenkugels Grapefruit Shandy Old Untappd checkin, June 23, 2016. Brown glass bottle. Leans more into the grapefruit flavor than the lemon shandy does - sweeter and more refreshing. Wednesday, March 27, 2024

2.7 Leinenkugels Summer Shandy Old Untappd checkin, April 10, 2016. Brown glass bottle. Leans more into the beer with too little of the lemonade flavor to come across as a decent shandy. It’s inoffensive, but just not a good representation of the style. Wednesday, March 20, 2024

3.2 Leinenkugels Red Crisp and malty with rye. not half bad, but no match for pretty much any craft red lagers. I wish more breweries made a red lager. Perfectly acceptable beer overall. Rating seems lower than I'd give it, but all the scores for each category in the rating system are correct. Friday, November 17, 2023

2.1 Leinenkugels Original Aromas are adjunct, wet grain and malt. This was my go-to beer in the '80s. A great example when a big brewery buys out a smaller one and ruins the quality for the sake of profit. Now it's a marginally better common adjunct pale world lager. And a beer like this that has some lasting head it's not about quality ingredients but rather foaming agent. Sunday, October 22, 2023

3.4 Leinenkugels Remastered Red Pour from a 12oz bottle. Color is a deep red copper with small white head. Crystal clear, very bright, with active carbonation. Aroma is mild caramel malt with very mild grassy hops. Taste is moderate malt up front, a little toast, mild hops infused. Finish brings moderate grassy hops, enough to cover the malt and leave a slightly hoppy and clean taste. Very well crafted with no off notes. Nice mouthfeel. The whole package comes together as mellow and easy drinking, delivering enough character to be interesting while still being a low key and enjoyable brew. Well done! Thursday, October 19, 2023

3.3 Leinenkugels Red 12 ounce bottle, bb Jan 2024. Clear, copper-red brew with a lasting disc of cream on top. Aroma of toasted bread, caramel, and a touch of apple. Tastes the same with a bit of toasted walnut and coffee. Light-medium mouthfeel with mid-level carbonation and a decent balance. From a Food City mix-a-six pack. Saturday, October 14, 2023

3.2 Leinenkugel's Juicy Peach From a twist off 12 oz bottle, this stuff's eye pours clear pale, maybe a little darker, like gold er sumthin. The nose is an off peach olfactory, with a little bit of farm or farmy hay in there. First taste is definitely a little peachy, maybe even some apricot. Good co2 level in this from the bottle. Yes it is tart, but not sure I would call it a tart beer. Well, at 4 and a half ABV, I think I could drink a couple of these and not regret it; its quite fruity refreshing, without getting on my nerves. Better than yer average fruit beer and certainly lives up to the liney reputation. Nothing artificial in taste on this one. Always had respect for Leinenkugel, especially as one of the founders of real craft beers, like Saranac. I typically don't like peach flavored beers, but this stuff is well balanced and OK with me. Nice job LK! Wednesday, September 27, 2023

3.1 Leinenkugels Americana Apple Pie On tap from the Leinie's "Barrel Yard" at Am Fam Field in Milwaukee. Into an aluminum cup (plus minus vs a plastic cup at a ballgame? it stay cold longer than expected ...) Golden pour. Aroma has light spice, apple; sweet & lightly tart. Taste follows showing more cinnamon initially. All quite light. After a while it is only light apple. Neither deep nor thick. Fine. Just don't expect too much. 11.6 Monday, July 31, 2023

2.9 Leinenkugels Summer Shandy 16 oz. on tap. Light lemon yellow pour with frothy white head. Aromas of lemon, lime and salt with a flavor profile to match. A splash of lemonade sweetness, a bit of cane sugar and citrus twist. Thirst-quenching, crisp and refreshing. Palate is on the watery side with a slight milky texture. Tart, citrus, sour pucker. Sweet malts are faintly present in the background. I added a pinch of salt for taste but this is a beer you could session all day and night. It's not going to blow anyone away but it is a good summer macro. Thursday, July 13, 2023

2.9 Leinenkugel's Juicy Peach I poured it from the can into a shaker. It pours a somewhat pale golden with some white head. The aroma is peach and grass. The taste is tart peach and cracker. It's more tart than expected. The tartness lingers quite a bit. It's pretty refreshing. There's not too much going on besides the tart peach though. Wednesday, July 12, 2023

3.3 Leinenkugel's Juicy Peach 12 oz. can. Clear straw pour with white foamy crown. Fruity aromatics include notes of stone fruit such as peach (obviously), tangerine, and apricot. Tart and acidic flavor blended with notes of sweet peach purée. Juicy, as the name implies. Thinnish mouthfeel. The low a/bv makes it suffer from being on the watery side. Light, crisp, tart and refreshing. Another solid seasonal beer from Leinenkugel. Tuesday, May 23, 2023
