JoBoy's Belgian Pale Ale
Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a golden/orange sort of color with a small white foamy head that fell off pretty quick. Sly lace. The aroma had some floral to grassy hops, some clove, white bread and a little bit of bubblegum sweetness. The flavor leaned towards the sweet side at first and then some clove lightly entered to make a decent effort to balance. Aftertaste was sweet through all of the prior mentioned tastes. Finish was sweet and floral. The palate was just a touch under medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt good. Overall, pretty good Belgian pale ale, perhaps I could knock this one back again.

JoBoy's Honey Badger
Reviewed from notes The appearance was a dark red almost brown color with a finger and a half’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Sliding light lace. The aroma had some honey and sweet caramel malt with some dark fruits and some earthy hop bitterness. The flavor leaned towards the malt sweetness with the dark fruits and honey coming back to blend and bring the sweetness just a tad tighter. Aftertaste was malty sweet with a quick semi-sweet finish. The palate was medium bodied with a good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine and the ABV felt good. Overall, pretty good brown ale that I could come back to.

JoBoy's Grand Smash Grape IPA
Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a light red color with a slight transparency about it. No carbonation could be seen rising. Head fizzled out pretty quick. The aroma had way too much vinous/grape notes. Made my eyes quiver. The flavor was sour with the grapes. Vinous aftertaste and finish. The feel was between light and medium bodied. No sessionability. Carbonation was barely there. ABV did feel fine, though. Overall, what a mess of a beer. Wishing brewers would stop experimenting with blending wine and beer. This is a perfect example of why they’re two separate alcoholic drinks and why they should stay that way.

JoBoy's Creek Water
Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a brown color with a thin white foamy head that fell off at a moderate pace. Light stringy lace. The aroma had some sweet nuts, good dose of caramel clean malts, light earthy hops and a touch of milk chocolate at the end. The flavor leaned towards the sweet side and tried to bring in the hops to balance, but they stayed mostly in the background. Mild aftertaste of the malts. Quick malty finish. The palate was just a touch under from medium bodied with a fairly good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt good as well. Overall, pretty nice brown ale that I could come back to.

JoBoy's American IPA
Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a dark pale orange color with a cap of a little white foamy head that fell off at a moderate pace. Light sliding lace. The aroma had some sweet freshly cut grass with a little bit of pine and citrus hoppy notes sliding in underneath. The flavor leaned towards the sweet side running through the prior mentioned aromas fairly nice. Clean hoppy aftertaste yet sweet finish. The palate was almost medium bodied with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Overall, pretty nice IPA that I could come back to.

Joboy's Gose
Hazy pale pour, thin white head. Smells a bit like briny wheat. Flavor of salty spiced banana bread. Which isn’t as bad as you’d think. Finish has a little brine kick.

JoBoy's Grand Smash Grape IPA
Smash IPA. Not a big fan of grape must beers. They usually have a touch of that butter like feel...but unlike Dogfish’s 61, which is abhorrent, this suffers only slightly. I can drink a glass of this, I just wouldn’t choose to. 3.3.

JoBoy's Dunkelweizen
Chocolate brown body with a ring of head. Lovely clovey chocolate wheatyness in the bouquet with just a hint of banana. Robust body of flove and chocolate. Quite a heft spicey and musky character. Tannic roast barley and clovey finish.

JoBoy's Harvest Amber
Amber body topped by a decent, flush head. The nose is of stone fruit hop and of a nice cool bitterness. Slightly complex hop flavor that flaunts cool bitterness, stone fruit, pine, and even a minty character. The easy maltyness provides a solid backbone for the hops to play off of. Bitter forward with great balance.

JoBoy's German Wheat
Blonde to bronze body with slight head and a flat looking body. Dry banana and clove bouquet with a similarly clovey and banana wheat flavor. Quite robust phenols on the palate. Stale wheat and clovey finish. Perhaps a bit too heavy on the clove.

JoBoy's Manheim Red
This one was drain pout. Brassy red body with a full head. Wet shoe and burn sugar and caramel aromas emanate off the glass. The taste is not much better. Burnt sugar, burnt caramel, bubblegum, and shoe on the palate. Burnt caramel and bubblegum lingering finish.

Hazy blonde with a decent head. Salty sea air nose punctuated by coriander. The body is also salty to accompany the doses of wheat, fruit, and coriander. Salty coriander finish. Easy drinking and decent balance throughout.

Joboy's Gose
On tap at Joboy’s. Hazy golden/orange. Banana esters, wheat, bread on the nose. Salt, coriander, wheat. banana. very light and refreshing. This is closer to a salted wheat beer for me than a gose ,as the typical gose characteristics are very understated.

JoBoy's Barleywine
On tap at Joboy's in Lititz, PA. This pours dark prune into the glass, with a light eggshell cap sitting atop the pour that leaves webbed lacing. The nose has lots of sourdough and tart citric sours. Flavor are tart black cherry, yeasty sour esters, a balanced hop profile and finishes with a sourdough and whiskey barrel essence. The ABV complements well, but never detracts from the pull. A definitively different take on the English barleywine, this is rare and quite nice. Almost reminiscent of a subtle Flemish sour. Excellent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

JoBoy's ODIN'S Ale
On tap at Joboy's in Lititz, PA. This pours amber-brown into the glass with a tiny ring of suds that trail the liquid down the pour. The nose is sweet and of holiday spices. Very sweet and malty with lots of pie spices, sweet potato and pumpkin, a hint of well-integrated alcohol warmth and finishes sweet and spiced. The silky mouthfeel and full body really warm one up for the cd weather.... and deliciously, I might add. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

JoBoy's Russian Imperial Stout
Served on-tap at JoBoy’s into a goblet. This one has been aged for 10 months.

A - Pours jet black with a creamy one finger tall mocha colored head leaving light streaks of lace down the glass.

S - Smells of coffee, vanilla, dark chocolate, dark roasted malt, and some dark fruits. There is a tiny sherry twang at the end of each sniff. Not too bad.

T - Starts off with plenty of chocolatey sweetness slowly giving way to hints of coffee, caramel, vanilla, raisins, and dates. The sherry twang is present here as well but it does not intensify. The finish is a mix of dark roast and sweetness, lingering on the pallet for some time.

M - Heavy body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Smooth, rich, feel with a bit of booze creeping in as it comes up to room temperature.

O - Not too bad. I like the flavors this one is offering but it never really wow’ed me. Glad I got to try it.

JoBoy's Pale Ale
On tap at the brewer, this pours dark golden-orange into the glass with a wispy head that leaves light lacing. Raisin Bran to the nose. Cereal flavors meet a malty hop back. A bit uninteresting, this feels blah to the palate; not very exciting. Just ok. Meh.

JoBoy's Sandy Ass Ale
On tab at the brewery, this pours clear golden with a light wispy head that leaves wispy lacing. The nose is of strawberries. Lots of strawberry citrus flavors, a little cracker, finishing with a light grassiness. Smooth and quaffable, this stands apart from most blonde ales, providing lots of flavor, complexity and substance (and honest interest) in an immense (and largely uninteresting) style that many beer geeks like me try to avoid.

JoBoy's German Wheat
On tap at the brewery, this pours a hazy straw into the glass, with a frothy head that leaves window-wash lacing. The nose is of bananas and circus peanuts. Unripened banana flavors with lemon and coriander, finishing with light circus peanuts, grains and cloves. A round citric mouthfeel with active carbonation makes for a nicely complex summer brew.

JoBoy's Porter
On tap at the brewery, this pours the deepest of Ruby with mahogany fringes. The thick tan head leaves thick lace all down the glass... a beautiful site. Barnyard and vinous notes to the nose. Dark cherry, roasted malt and finishing with a nice bitter in the mouth. Silky mouthfeel and a round palate are very inviting as an aperitif. Nice example of style.

JoBoy's Oatmeal Stout
On tap at the brewery, this pours the deepest mahogany with Ruby fringes. The tan ample head reduces to nice ring lacing. A grainy chocolate nose ensues. Sweet chocolate malt upfront with oatmeal and grains in the mid-palate, and some cherry to finish. Very nice. Smooth palate and an easy quaff with a round palate, this is superb.
