onceblind	3.6 Dogfish Head Dogfish Oloroso Sherry Barrel-aged 120 Minute At GABF as “Woodsy 120” but was described to me as “sherry barrel aged” so instead of adding a new entry I’m putting it here. Lightly hazy rich golden hue with a thin ivory head. Bright boozy copper malty aroma with oak notes. Bold flavor that’s malty and toasty with toffee malty sweetness and bright oak. solar	3.3 Dogfish Head Raison D'Extra Found this gem complete with dust on the bottle tucked away on a shelf at JR's Beer Warehouse near Pittsburgh, PA. Bottled 1/11/19. Plenty of pep on opening. Nose of rum raisin, prunes and a bit of yeast duskiness. Pours medium brown with nice off white head that clings to the rim. Stays around, nice legs. Taste of raisins, prunes, figs, sherry. Belgian quad profile. A bit thinner than expected. ABV clocks in around 16 - 20% (nobody seems to know) but 5 years of aging mellows this brew... there is no hot alcohol burn. This is a sipping beer, like a fine port with a bit of soft carbonation. Finish is dry and balanced for a sweet beer. Be aware: powerful alcohol content. A brilliant confection of a brew and totally YUM. Update: having bought a 4 pak there is inconsistency between the bottles as to aging. One was fine, the other murky and turbid with many loose bits of sediment and an off putting yeast twang to the taste. The head receded quickly, like a cola. I tossed it out. Buyer beware as to 1/11/19 bottling date for this brew. I have lowered my rating accordingly. Sunday, April 14, 2024

It is quite smooth at the ABV but finishes just a touch dry. Delightful nonetheless! Earlier Rating: 1/20/2012 Total Score: 4.4 Pours a rustic orange with no head & very little lacing. The aroma is sweet & almost cider like. The palate is incredibly smooth for a 15% beer. It’s slightly bitter up front but finishes clean. This is an outstanding brew! ganache	2.6 Dogfish Head Colderest IPA Cans from the sampler box. Nose strong grapefruit peel and some lychee. Pour lightly hazy yellow with a loose and sudsy bright white head. Taste lightly sweet with low bitterness, tight crispness, fullish body, slowly warming; bitterness mixes with nice, warm bread that lasts into the aftertaste, Principally grapefruit with a healthy splash of orange or tangerine. Average alcohol integration. Touch flabby, a beer I can definitively say is not 'moreish', but not bad. Nose rich in slightly-pungent hops, a real surprise, but they're soft and inviting, mixed with grain and a little lemoncit. Pour hazy yellow-golden with a dense, bright white head. Taste lightly sweet and lightly bitter, soft hops with reasonable sunny malt character; unusually, has a little sour mash, it's tubby and unfinished feeling, not raw, not yet into bread, but mashy. Blunted peppery hop character, lemon less than hoped for, but it does give good east German damp / musty bottle vibes without staleness. Hard to recommend this one, fine with food.
