Eel River Ravenís Eye Imperial Stout
Pours a nice black with a good amount of brown head. Nose is chocolate and just a hint of chocolate. Typical weak malt. Taste is chocolate, coffee, raisin, molasses and just a bit of bitterness. Medium bodied and surprisingly bubbly. There isnít anything wrong with this but there isnít anything special either.

Eel River Emerald Triangle IPA
Bottle, pours golden and clear, albeit with trub in the bottle, and with a lasting fine white head. Aromas of bitter orange-caramel and a little resin. Initially slightly sweet and fruity with pleasing hoppy flavours, but then an overpowering acrid and faintly medicinal bitterness sweeps in and wipes the flavour out.

Eel River Ravenís Eye Imperial Stout
From tap @ Taphouse. Pours black with a slightly tan white head. Aroma is spot on how I like imperial stouts, roasted malts and some sweet coffee aroma. Taste is a tad disappointing, in that it dissappears white quickly. But sweet black malts, some licorice and vanilla. Still a nice beer though.

Bottle- pour is a rich chocolate brown with no light penetration and milk chocolate head the quickly dissipates to a thin head rimming the beer. The aroma is alcohol, caramel, and heavy roasted grains. The taste is initially sweet, raisins, chocolate, prunes, and toasted grains. The finish is slightly sweet, and strong malts. Overall a great sipping beer for a cold winter night.

Tasting at Mattís
Hazy golden color, small head. The aroma is a bit grainy, but the citrusy hops also show up. Lean, agile mouthfeel; some flavor of toffee and grains; good hopping level, piney resins, sweet orange peel, and a mild alcohol perception.
Tastes old, but itís still enjoyable.

Eel River Emerald Triangle Double IPA
22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out a very floral type of hops and lots of oranges. Flavour brings out lots of orange fruits upfront, followed by subdued floral hops, and earthy notes. Too orangey and lacking any complexity. Not at all a good example of a double IPA.

Eel River Emerald Triangle IPA
Bottle:   Amberish, faint haze, pillowy sandy head, nice lacing.   Big citrusy hop nose, smells a bit candied.   Not as bright or sweet on the tongue as the nose suggests.   A bit muted, but still flavorful.   More pith and peel on the tongue, yet it seems as if its candied citrus peel on the nose.   Soft bitterness too, not over the top.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Smooth finish, a bit less bright and sweet as the nose suggested, and not as hoppy as one would think.   Still decent.

Apparently itís an emerald square these days. Thatís cool though. Nothing look a small dose of confusion to pair with my beer. Like this is the first time that has happened. Draft pour at Hop and Hound. A bright golden color with a swirling head. An inviting piney hop aroma, with an accurate prediction to flavor. Hop heavy but a strong and very noticeable malt bill to complete. Well put together. A nice, refreshing imperial with a heated bitterness that checks in very late. Doesnít quite major in standing out, but all is well here.

12 oz bottle purchased for pocket change. I always love trying these new IPAís, that I throw a mixed 6 pack together at a bottle shop and leave spending less than 12 bucks. I feel like these guys disappeared from the shelves in Seattle for a short while, and just recently made a comeback. Maybe they just blended in. I donít know, it seems like itís a resurface. Golden copper clean pour with a ton of rocky foam head and lace. Aroma is malt forward, bran like cereal malts. Flavor has a similar cereal malt leading the line, with some orange like flavor hiding. Almost has an orange tea like bitterness to finish it off. Definitely a unique IPA here. Definitely malty, and has little memorable hop impressions. As an overall, this was pretty good.

From bomber. Clear amber with small white head and moderate carbonation. Citrusy hop aromas, grapefruit, caramel, some floral notes. The taste is quite sweet - big caramel malt, tangerine, grapefruit, melon - a little muddy though. Light bodied, moderate acidity. Not bad but detracted by excessive residual sweetness and some muddy flavours.
