draft that poured a dark brown with off white head. just basically your typical stout. nothing really jumped out on this one. plenty of roasted malts, hints of chocolate. there was a mild bitterness either from the chocolate or the hops or both. overall it was just a decent stout. nothing wrong with it and it is very drinkable.

Upland Darken Dark Wild Ale
Dantalion. Bottle aged 3 years. Pours a dark brown with a soft foam head that dissipates, leaving a ring of foam that hugs my glass. The aroma is of brett, acidic sweet fruit, subtle caramel malts, and a touch of spice. Tasting, there is a clean tart flavor. It was done rather nicely, not too tart or acidic. The beverage was sugary sweet with a tart cherry flavor. There was also a good faint bitter dark malted grain flavor. Overall a well done brew. Nice body and a good finish. An easy drinker considering the abv.

Aroma of fresh pineapple and grapefruit on the nose. Deep yellow color with an off white head. Sweet pineapple/malt up front. Bitterness is uneven, a bit heavy for the delicate tropical flavors. Some cattiness in there as well. Watery mouthfeel. Probably a better summer seasonal.

Upland VinoSynth Red
Bottle: The aroma consists of light-moderate cherry, light oak, mild lemon, funk, and vinous notes. It pours a slightly hazy reddish-orange with a small off white head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a thin ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of light-moderate cherry (slightly more sweet than tart). There is some light cola in the middle. The finish has heavy lemon, light-moderate sour grapes, light vinous notes, and oak. It’s light-medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation.

Sampled from a bottle at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. Pours orange with a thick, white head. Aromas of sweet malt and citrus. The taste has quite a sweet malt base and citrussy hops with a strongly bitter finish. Hints of pine resin and grapefruit skin. Some floral and slightly spicy notes. A nice fruity and refreshingly bitter IPA. A little sweeter than I like, but not bad at all. Highly drinkable.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of foamy fine to medium sized dark white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a hazy yellow orange colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was musty and fruity. The mild citrus mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a medium fruity aftertaste. The ok flavor contained notes of mild citrus pineapple and coconut. An OK brew just nothing special.

Draft at The Ale House Amesbury. Cloudy, bright yellow with plenty of C02. Aroma of lemon juice, grassy hops, sour citrus.

Taste is acidic lemons, funky yeast, with a lot of acid reflex. Chewy yeasty texture, maybe enjoyed by some. Maybe about average but just not working for me personally.

Upland Dragonfly India Pale Ale
Very nice aroma of citrus and piney hops. Appearance is cloudy and a diluted rust orange. Taste is a collection of muddled flavors, hops mixed with caramel malt. Could be balanced better. Carbonation is kind of harsh. Overall, a decent ipa, but in a category that is saturated with great ipas, this one doesn’t stand out.
