Struise Zombination V (M.A.N.O.L.O.)
Sample from 750ml bottle. Pours dark brown, almost black colour. No head. Slightly earthy notes, hints of port, muscat wine or sherry, dark fruits, sweetness, caramelly notes in the aroma. No bourbon thow. Slight notes of bourbon, muscat wine, hints of sherry, berries and dark fruits at first. Notes of berries, caramel, some sharpness from the alcochol in the middle. Notes of sweeter grapes, hints of sherry in the end. Sweetness and notes of sherry in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is rather dry in the end. The bourbon or the oak are not in present. Still, it is a quite nice digestive.

De gusto exagerado a frutos secos azucarados, tales como las pasas, ciruelas, higos... levadura y algo de chocolate y vainilla. 10 gradazos totalmente camuflados aunque yo no me la apretaría con el estómago vacío... Un birrón de los que te marca.

Struise St. Amatus 2013 - Cask Strength Woodford Reserve BA
Miedziane, klarowne, z niewielką i nietrwałą pianą. W mało intensywnym zapachu suszona żurawina, kandyzowane owoce, porto, nalewka wiśniowa... W smaku sporo słodyczy, kojarzącej się z rodzynkami i figami, do tego lekka owocowa kwaskowatość, ziemistość, pieprz i wyraźna whisky. Długa i wysoka, głogowo alkoholowa, nieprzyjemna goryczka, średnie wysycenie, lekko oleiste w odbiorze.
Ogólnie kolejny zawód, jeśli chodzi o piwa na 15lecie. W porównaniu do średnio udanej wersji standardowej 0,33l, ta jest znacznie bardziej alkoholowa i dziegciowa.

Sample from 750ml bottle. Pours dark brown colour. No head. More smoke (compared to other Islay whiskey barrel aged version of this series), dark fruits, berries, hints of caramel, sweetness, notes of alcochol in the aroma. Smoke is definitely more present here. Sweetness, smoke, slight notes of caramel, dark fruits at the beginning. Notes of sherry or berry wine, sweetness in the middle. Sweet, but also slightly sour notes in the end. Notes of smoke as well. Notes of port, hints of spices, slight dryness and alchocholy sharpness in the aftertaste. Smoke is always on the background. Well balanced, heavy bodied digestive.

Sample from 750ml bottle. Slight notes of smoke, mineral or earthy notes, hints of plums, caramelly notes, hunts of vanilla and oak in the aroma. Slight earthiness, dark fruits and oak st the beginning. Very slight notes of smoke. Caramel and notes of berries in the middle. Slight notes of smoke, oak and maybe vanilla in the end. Dark fruits, sweetness and notes of berries in the aftertaste. The sweetness is always on the background. However it is quite well balanced, but there is not so smoke as I would have expected from the Octomore barrel. The Lagavulin one was more interesting and complex.

Sample from 750ml bottle. Pours dark brown colour. No head. Oily texture. Lots of port or sherry, hints of berries and dark fruits, sweetness, notes of caramel, slightlly alcocholy notes (berry wine, sherry or port) in the aroma. Sweetness, port at first. Notes of brown sugar, sark fruits, hints of caramel in the middle. Slight sourness, nites of berries and port in the end. Slightly spicy notes. Port or sherry and sweetness in the aftertaste. Heavy bodied, sweet, but extremely well balanced digestive which by texture and taste reiminds already a port or sherry. I think the berry accent may come from the Chateau Margaux barrels.

Can picked up from Asda at Brighton Marina, consumed at Sirius Boardwalk Apartments, Thursday 18th January 2018 in the company of Barry and Lynn Black as yer at with a dark brown head. This is a beast of a beer however hadn't realised it was an Ardberg barrel aged beer, so a little bit of hard work for me. Soft in the mouth, really soft mouthfeel, a touch too boozy. Mostly chocolate a bit of liquorice. If I'm bring honest ain't a fan, it's ok but I have had much better, too much whisky now showing. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.2

Sample from 750ml bottle. Pours dark brown colour. No head. Hints of smoke, dark fruits, hints of port, berries, notes of vocoa, hints of caramel and oaky notes in the aroma. Sweetness, dark fruits, notes of smoke, hints of whiskey, notes of berries, sweetness in the taste. The smoky notes go together with port in the end. The smokiness of the whiskey plays in the backside all the time. Really complex. Oily texture, no carbonation. Well ballanced, excellent digestive.

Slightly hazy copper color with a bit of off-white foam. Aroma is malty, sugary with dried fruits and some boozy and woody notes. Taste is sweet at first, fruity, a bit resiny, woody, quite bitter on the finish. Medium body and carbonation. Fairly complex and well balanced but the barrels are not very prominent.

Bottle, 2011 vintage. Mahogany body, medium to small head. Earthy aroma with dried berries, light brown sugar and some oak notes. Mildly sourish malty taste with complex notes of dark berries and woody dryness. Great balance, not overly sweet. Very solid but not quite mind-blowing.

Barwa czarna, piana beżowa, spora. Aromat czekolada, karmel, kawa, ciemne owoce, lekka wanilia. W smaku kawa, paloność, kakao, praliny, trochę drewna i czerwonych owoców. Pifko trochę przegazowane. Generalnie jest wytrawne, alko nie wyczuwalne. Fajne pifko.

Découverte et partagée avec mon cher Appiantiqua dans nos petits verres Duvel 18cl Belle robe ébène opaque surmontée d'une mousse café très persistante avec une forte carbonatation. Le nez nous offre des arômes de fruits noirs avec une pointe de très bonne levure et une note vineuse. La bouche ajoute des saveurs houblonnées,de café, avec un petit côté "piquant" mêlé à un alcool très chaleureux nous laissant sur un palais presque parfait où le mélange douceur-amertume est très harmonieux faisant penser à la grande soeur"Pannepot"!18,5/20

Dégustée avec mon petit Kittenbieer dans un verre Duvel 18cl. Température de début 8 à 9°. Superbe robe ébène opaque surmontée d'une généreuse,crémeuse et persistante mousse couleur café; carbonatation élevée. Nez subtil avec des arômes de fruits noirs, chocolat, pain et une discrète touche vineuse. Le goût est riche et complexe : houblons, café, alcool chaleureux ainsi que des notes piquantes et légèrement astringentes; on apprécie la balance douceur/amertume. Le Palais est long et en forme de rétrospective des parfums évoqués avec l'arrivée d'un soupçon de cacao amer. Une grande réussite à placer entre un Imperial Stout "traditionnel" et l'unique et inclassable Pannepot. 18,5/20
