UPDATED: FEB 18, 2022 Banana and florals. A little citrus. Nice for style. Orange pour with good head. Light tangy finish. Good beach beer. Bottle.

UPDATED: FEB 10, 2022 Bottle pours cloudy orangey with white head that dissipates. Sweet banana and clove aroma. Tangy, wheaty, dry yeasty flavor. Real nice authentic weizen flavor. Surprised by the classic yaste and flavor. Would fool anybody that it's from Bavaria.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2021 Clear golden pour with a slight bit of haze once it settles. Beer smells strongly of wheat, above all else. Taste is very bright. Reminds me a bit of apple juice, not that the apple flavor itself is apparent. Banana bread as with most weizens. Sweet and smooth. No real bitterness. Moderately carbonated. It's a fine brew, but not necessarily among my favorites of the style. A tad too sweet and piquant for me.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2021 This is a backlog rating from 2007 from a bottle picked up locally, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time, work and/or family. Words to describe this beer are pale wheat malts, banana, spice, some off metallic character, meh.

jsporrer (1837) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 5, 2017
Pours a hazy deep golden yellow with a white head. Nice aroma of biscuit bread and some light banana. Taste is a clean crisp wheat flavor with just enough banana to not be too sweet. Not much other spice flavors like cloves but still a pretty good example of the typical style of beer. Very refreshing and enjoyable.

Hazy light orange pour with aroma of banana, spice, and bread. Bread and spice flavor with some orange and banana. Decent beer.
