dorain (2492) - Berlin, GERMANY - FEB 18, 2024

DraftDodger (7653) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 5, 2021
UPDATED: FEB 5, 2021 Copehagen 5/2 2021. 75 cl bottle from Belgisk Bryg, Emdrup Mosevej, Kbh. NV. Grinning Christmas elf on the label. Pours slightly unclear amber with a mid-sized white head. Dense. Settles as 1,5 cm thick layer of foran covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing. Aroma is medium intense with sweet malty odor mingling with a dry, citric scent. Sweet pale malts, caramel, hints of brown sugar. Sour gooseberries and citrus. Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, smooth, almost flat texture. Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate tart sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undertone. Finish is dry. Well balanced with an appropriate bitterness. Not the worst way to get my best Christmas wishes.

Overall; top beer, top beverage. [čištění starého nepořádku, lahvové pivo, koup@ německém obchodě]

Idiosynkrasie (16111) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JAN 11, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 11, 2020 750ml bottle. Clear, chestnut colour with ruby glimmer and small to average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white to beige head. Sweet-ish, caramel malty aroma, notes of malt lozenge, caramel, some toffee, rock sugar, nougat, fruity hints of red berries and cherry. Taste is sweet-ish, nutty and caramel malty, hints of nougat, caramel, toffee, fruity hints of red berries, cherry, even a touch of plum in the finish, yeasty spicy marmite overtones; very cautious hints of oxidation (not surprising, no criticism as the bottle is eight years past BBF). Minimally 'chewy' texture (not viscous, not oily, but not watery either - 'al dente' in a way), smooth, soft, silky palate, soft carbonation.
