Vintage Whippoorwill Wit
On tap at the Whitney Way location in Madison, WI. as a flight serving, showing a lightly hazed, modest orangey/gold color, with a fair layer of soft white froth to a persistent ring, and light spots of lacing. The nose was soft/wheat-like malt, mild orangey citrus, a touch of yeastiness, subtle flora, herb, and spice as coriander. Less than medium bodied, with decent effervescence, the taste was similar notes, with slight sweetness, a bit of tartness & tanginess, subtle earth & herb bitterness, and a touch of dryness to the finish. Mild but tasty enough style rep.

Vintage Whaddya Say Bro?
On tap at the Whitney Way location in Madison, WI. as a flight serving, showing a hazed, orangey/gold color, with a fluffy layer of soft white froth to a persistent ring, and ribbony cling as lacing. The nose was malt, moderate esters as citrusy tangelo, pit fruit, and subtle dankness possibly from pineapple and background woodiness. A bit less than medium bodied, the taste followed similarly with a posted ABV of 5.9%, decent carbonation, good balance, and an even keeled but mild bitterness that was citrusy, resinous, and slightly earthy.

Vintage Five Year Plan
Tap. Really nice stuff, deep unique tropical fruit tone. A lot going on, way more depth than a typical fruited sour. Coconut centers it all. Cool beer.

Vintage Z-Quester
On tap at the E. Washington St. location as a flight serving, showing a fairly clear, deep orangey/gold, almost amber color, with a decent layer of soft white froth, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was toasted maltiness as bread & cereal grain, with a bit of nuttiness, light spice, and a touch of malty sweetness. Medium- bodied, the taste was similar notes, with good carbonation, mild toast & grain astringency, and a crisp, lightly dry finish. Minimal caramel & fruit notes for the style, but a nicely approachable Amber, nonetheless.

Vintage Pumpernickel Porter
On tap at Vintage's Whitney Way location as a flight serving, showing a deep brown color, with some amber highlighting, a decent layer of off-white/light tan froth, and wavy cling to the lacing. The nose was roast & toast, all grain bread, with mocha notes, and slight spice. Medium bodied, the taste was somewhat as the aroma notes, taken back a little by the light tanginess which initially struck me as oxidation, and not a fan friendly note in my Porters, with okay carbonation, roasted & earthy bitterness, and slight dryness to the finish.

Vintage Weiss Nix
On tap at the Whitney Way location during GT ticket time as a pint serving to a shaker, showing a hazed, orangey/gold color, a presentable layer to a bubbly ring of soft white froth, and spots & strands of lacing. The nose was soft malt/wheat, dried fruit, citrusy orange, light spice as clove, slight banana, and a balancing readiness of tartness & tanginess. Medium bodied, the taste was similar notes, with a lively, seltzer-like nature to the carbonation, the tartness & tanginess, and some light biscuit, ripeness, and peel to the finish. Decent Weiss refreshment.

Vintage Parfait for the Course
On tap at brewpub A very basic kettle sour does little to stand out but does everything that it promises in the description. If there was such a style as "parfait beers" this would fit right in. AROMA / APPEARANCE Strawberry jam, cotton candy, and a latent tartness bubble upwards from the unassuming cherry red base. The minimal head soon fizzles to nothing. FLAVOR / PALATE Light strawberry jam, white toast, and Jolly Rancher greet the tongue with textures of brunch. The transition becomes sweet and candylike with notes of Sweet Tarts. If it were any more sweet it would be too cloying to drink a full pint - sixteen ounces is just about the perfect amount. It is not the finest Vintage has produced yet does a good enough job to be better than many releases from other local breweries.

(from old notes) On tap at the Vintage east side location down the street from the capitol building - the old Tangent spot. Very dark brown pour, with a bit of a beige head. Aroma has sweet malts and a strong meat smokiness with light dried fruit. Taste is maltier yet maintained that nice smoke presence. Smooth and tangy, with soft carbonation, this was really nice and unique. 14.8

Vintage Octoberfest
Fairly deep and dark brown and copper coloured body with a brownish glow and a thinnish, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of earths, caramelised sugars, toffee, grain and a dash of bread and toast with some more pungent yeast and grape scents than I would have expected, but some nice sweetness noticeable as well without any pungency it seems, at least in the nose. Medium-bodied; Fairly rich malty profile dominates with a bit of the toasted grain, raisin, pure grape and floral aspects all coming out, with a bit of the nutty and grainier side of things with some earthiness as well and a lot of caramel and pitted fruit flavours coming out, especially near the end. Aftertaste is rich, super malty, relatively earthy, but full of caramelised and toffee-like flavours that hit some nice fruit elements that also bring out some sugars, but only a mild dash of hops and bitterness and no alcohol notes at all. Overall, a nice, relatively easy-drinking, but flavourful beer that hits some lager elements, but more of the nutty, earthier and especially toffee and caramelised sugar side of things. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Hy-Vee in Madison, Wisconsin on 08-August-2021 for US$1,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 10-October-2021.
