“Pretty garbage place, but it's one of the few places with craft beer at IAH. You order by app and they (eventually) bring out your beer -- took them about 10 mins to bring out our beer. Only 16 oz glasses ($10-11 plus tax), mostly garbage on tap, with 2-3 nominal craft. If you're stuck in Terminal E and need a beer, or really just a comfortable place to hill and charge your devices, this can do.“

“Only bar worth checking in the Houston airport: They have about 40 physical taps, but only 23 on the menu as orderable. 16 oz pour is the smallest size and at airport prices. Seems like all the bars at the airport are order and pay by phone. I asked the bartender if I could order one 16 oz beer and have him pour me two 8 oz pours and he obliged (hence raised my service rating since he actually did something besides wait for a ticket to print from my phone order). Glasses are chilled so the beer is way too cold and has an odd freezer burn smell. If you’re not from Texas, you can get some mundane Texas ticks, but you won’t find anything special here. The only bar in the airport that has some selection though so could waste some time during a layover if needed.“

“A chance visit here with the son after going to nearby St. Arnold's on Good Friday. Actually this turned out well. We found the place to be sizeable, nicely taken care of, the beer I sampled was good and the server to be gregarious and friendly. Need I say more?“

“Wife and I stopped in for dinner (7/26/23) on a trip to visit our Daughter. Its been 25+ years since I visited the Saint Arnold Brewery and when I did they were in another location. Saint Arnold's Amber Ale is probably the beer that is most responsible for my journey to craft beer, so this was nostalgic trip. Parking lot was just about full on a Wed at 6pm which had me worried but the outside seating area is huge and there are plenty of tables inside where we were promptly seated. 15 or so beers on tap a few bottles some house made ciders and wines as well as non alcohol drinks. Flights and some 10 oz pours available. Decent menu with burgers sandwiches salads pizza etc. We had a great pepperoni pizza and some pretzel bites that were good as well. We were wearing sandals and were not allowed on the tour of the brewery points off for that bring shoes if that important to you. Great to relive the nostalgia I would return in a heartbeat if I find myself in Houston Again.“

“I do enjoy the atmosphere at small breweries. Elder Son certainly has a good one. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and sampled a couple of beers each. Very busy for early in the day, people liking the ambience. A handful of tables and a bar that never had an empty seat. Dog friendly, always a plus for me. And the beer was not bad.“

“Next to 8th Wonder, this newer place focuses on space travel (brewer worked at NASA), with beers focus on Belgian styles. They do flights instead of token system, which is pricy (4-5$ per glass, maybe 6-8 ounces) but the beer is decent. No food noted. When in the area...“

“First stop on IAH layover. Located in a gentrified industrial area, close to True Anomaly, this place is big, baseball park theme, huge outside area, a mexican food truck with delicious offerings (the Mexican shawarma was great). The range of beer is broad, from lager to imperial stouts and barrel aged beers, going from OK to solid. As with a lot of TX breweries, they still go by the token systems (5-6$ for 16 on, 3 for 15$ or 3 for 18$ with glass) and will provide small tastes pretty easily. Worth the stop.“

“I have been to a number of Flying Saucers through the years, this is the best one. The initial visit was the best, long ago I had Chimay Blue for the first time here, I will not forget that. A large spread of beers on tap, you can get lost in it. But the list does not seem to change much over time, many ordinary beers. The food has been good, the service at times has been extraordinary. The downtown neighborhood was once a bit concerning but has improved significantly. A lot to appreciate here. Good memories.“

“Medium sized taproom with pretty basic interior with benches and large tables. Some nice details on the walls, liked the paintings. They had 14 taps on with plenty of styles to choose from. Very good quality of beer. Friendly service. Well worth checking out.“

“Medium sized taproom with nice interior and details. Patio outside. Flights available. Almost 20 taps with plenty of different styles. Unfortunately quality wise the beers were average at best. Not bad for ticking, but if you want good beer there are better options nearby.“

“Ice houses are sort of dive bars, this one seems to be a proper one. Most of the bar is just a large patio/beer garden, part of it under the roof. They claim to have 100 different beers which is possible, craft beer mostly in cans, nothing to exciting, but still plenty of local craft to choose from. It's not a must visit by any means, but not a bad choice for last beer before bed.“

“Medium sized place with a patio outside. Was quite busy on our afternoon visit, seems to be quite popular with the locals. Can get a bit loud. 18 taps, plenty of different styles and a good quality of beer. Service was not that good, took me forever to place my order although we were sitting at the bar. Bartenders seem to be doing everything but their job, Anyhow, not a bad place to visit, at least for some ticking.“

“Visited this bar on a trip see my son. Many beers on tap with a lot of local or Texas breweries, the options were not real challenging. They also sell wine and have another bar that dispenses liquor. For a number of beers, the happy hour prices are very reasonable. The two bartenders we spoke with were knowledgeable about what they were serving, nice guys. The patio is covered by a lot of fans and misters working their magic on a hot August afternoon, made it quite tolerable. The place was starting to fill up on a Thursday, a good sign for the establishment.“

“Many times to Houston but I had not been to Karbach. That changed today, the prodigal son brought my wife and me here on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Very good facilities with an also good beer garden. The employees were nice, as in really nice. We sat in a covered area with picnic tables, watched an English soccer game on the tv and I had a pretty decent NE style IPA. A fine visit.“

“On a visit to Houston my son drove us here. How fortunate. Brandon was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The selection of beers is great, many high level beers and a good selection of local brews. My best pick-up was likely a bottle of Straffe Hendrik Xmas Blend, first time I’ve seen it anywhere and that includes in Belgium. Not exactly a cheap place to shop, but a small complaint in the grand scheme of things. I’ll be back, guaranteed.“

“Finally made it to Saint Arnold on our most recent trip to H-Town. I can say that it is the nicest beer garden I have been to in Houston. Good selection of beers on tap including ones I have had no access to. Pizza was tasty and the service was attentive. The only issues were the oppressive heat and humidity and the pesky insects buzzing around.“

“Odd little place in the middle of a neighborhood. The one guy working there could not have been nicer. They had an interesting selection, not many taps but some off the wall stuff that I had never seen before like a rum barrel aged bock and a lemongrass kolsch. I really enjoyed this place.“

“Out of the way hard to find place that specializes in high ABV and strong tasting beers. Beer was good but there were only about 6 on tap. Theme is heavy metal with lots of arcade games. Wild place, people are here getting drunk. Their beers are good enough that they don't have to try so hard on their theme.“

“This place is in the middle of a neighborhood, kinda shabby looking on the outside, looked way better on the inside. The server was great; he was doing everything himself. Unique selections, all that we had were quite good. Give this place a try, don't judge it by it's outside appearance.“

“I'm reviewing their huge new location. They need some time to get their act together, the service was very confused, it took forever to get beers/food and they were out of some things. The building and set up are amazing, the beers they had were pretty good. I will update my rating if i visit again.“

“I can't even describe how big this place is. Just the beer section is bigger than most liquor stores. Very well organized, had a bunch of stuff I had never seen, not just from the TX area but all over. I could have used a bigger mix a six area but that is my only complaint. This is a must see in Houston.“

“Visited midday on a Wednesday. Setup similar to most Total Wine stores, huge cavernous space with Wine, Spirits, Gourmet Foods and Beer. Beer selection is mostly on the right hand side of the store. Almost all of the beer is stored warm, and the single selection was quite limited - only a few seasonals broken out. I actually found a better selection of what I need across the street at the Whole Foods. (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time) I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“I was taken here by my son some time ago on a decent Saturday afternoon while I was in town. We found a place to sit in the shade and I engaged one of the employees in a lengthy conversation about some of their beers I had previously tried. We had a number of their brews, watched the activity with the patrons and their dogs and I bought a snifter of theirs. Good time.“

“Came here on 9.5.2019. Located not far from the airport, this is a quite unique brew pub. A barn and a beautiful beer garden. Unfortunately it was raining when I came here. Large leaf trees and vegetable beds give this beer garden a great character. Beers were ok. The Pale Ale was too sweet, the IPA was better. I ate the Urban Cowboy burger, which was good. Service was super friendly. Overall a recommendable brew pub.“

“Came here on 6.5.2019 (after a bad Golf weekend: Ben beating me badly). Not far away from St. Arnold’s and Houston city center (parking is easy) this is a much smaller brewery. Bar with some tables and a few retro video games, the brewhouse behind the bar visible through a glass wall and a few tables outside. 8 beers on tap. I had the hazy IPA and the porter, both were quite good. Metal music fit this place quite well. If the beers further develop this place has some runway.“

“Cool brewery in downtown Houston. Located in a warehouse with plenty of indoor sitting and a large outside patio as well. Indoor area with lots of Houston sports memorabilia. There are TVs as well, probably a good place to catch a game. They have a unique pricing scheme - $5/beer served in a plastic cup (12 oz) or $12/3 beers in a 12 oz plastic cup or $15/3 beers in souvenir glass (you keep). You can also bring your own glass and get 3 beers for $12. Rocket Fuel, their Vietnamese coffee porter, was my favorite, but all beers were solid. No food but they have a permanent food truck. One of my favorite stops in Houston.“

“Huge place in industrial area. There is a very large outdoor area, and plenty of indoor seating as well. There was a large hall with small tables and then larger tables inside enclaves which featured different paintings, some religious themed. It does sort of have a church like appearance with the high ceilings and artwork. It was packed on a Sunday afternoon. Beers were pretty good. They had regulars, seasonals, and some special releases (not all were actually available though). Large food menu as well, large portions. I enjoyed my curry chicken sandwich. One of Houston's older breweries, beers are solid, must stop in Houston.“

“A surprisingly good find on a walk back to our hotel in Houston. I'm surprised this place hasn't been added yet. An Australian themed brewpub with indoor and outdoor seating. “Cool brewery in Houston. Indoor and outdoor seating, pretty packed on a Saturday afternoon. They had 8-10 taps with a variety of styles (pils, ESB, biere de garde, tripel, milk stout). Beers were average to slightly above average, but no duds in the bunch. No food. A solid stop.“

“Interesting place in Houston. Outdoor seating only (most is covered), which was a little chilly on a windy January evening. They make their own beers, had about 5 or so on the tap list, which were mediocre. However, they do have an interesting guest list with a bunch of high gravity/barrel aged stuff. Beers are served in plastic cups. The food is gourmet hot dogs with a variety of different meats and toppings, and is really good! I think it's a decent stop, though I would probably just stick to the guest taps. Definitely order food and make sure you go when the weather is pleasant. Also the bathrooms were disgusting.“

“Happy to see that there is finally a place to go at St. Arnold, and they really went big when the went! Large outdoor beer garden, really hopping. Inside seating on two floors. “Since July 2018 there's a big new restaurant and outdoor beer garden next door to the brewery itself. Great outdoors on a nice day: very large patio with a nice view of the downtown skyline. Great selection of beers. All their regular stuff is on tap, plus a separate list of special cellar beers (I believe some of these can only be ordered from a server, not the outside bar). Specials include a good portion of the Divine Reserve range going back a few years, along with a few brewery-only cask beers, and a few other brewery-only taps.“

“I really had no expectations for this visit. Pulled in around 7PM on a rainy Thursday evening. Only a couple of regulars in the bar. One bartender cracking jokes with the regulars but he made sure I had what I needed. A lot of high-ABV on the board, but an interesting mix of styles including some BA stuff. Flights available. The four I tried were all excellent, including a truly exceptional BA Barleywine (BIL!). I hit last call and asked if I could buy a single taster. The answer was unfortunately no, but he said he could pour me a free sample of whatever I wanted. I picked the DIPA and he proceeded to fill a taster glass and hand it over free of charge. Thank you! I mentioned that I was impressed and the guy said that their secret was that they decide to stop brewing bad beer :). Anyway, this is a must stop. Based on my limited sample it is one of the best breweries in Texas for sure.“

“Odd part of town, seems really out of the way. They have a dedicated gravel lot strung up with lights. Some outdoor seating, complete with a gas fire pit to sit around. Inside is fairly small, long community tables with benches. Order at the bar. Food menu as well. They had burgers made from Venison and pork, which is how my dad and I made them when I was a kid. Very tasty and brings back memories. Flights of four available. Beer quality is decent, not great, but the other aspects of this place, particularly the food, make it well worth a visit.“
