UPDATED: SEP 21, 2023 Poured lightly hazed amber off white lace with some yeast spots. Aroma of citrus hops and caramel malt. Medium sweet with toffee and citrus fruit unusually combined. The transition is barely perceptible and the fruit comes back in the finish. Medium bodied smooth texture average carbonation (I would have liked softer), and a complex fruit malt finish. Part of me wishes that the same effects could be achieved in a Dubbel. But that's what 1/3 is for. Totally tapped has ceased brewing but has a taphouse bar in Beeston with excellent stuff.

UPDATED: JUN 13, 2023 Servida en schniffter. Color ámbar anaranjado turbio y opaco, espuma blanca ligeramente amarillenta compacta y duradera. El aroma es sublime, levadura belga, bizcocho, fruta madura, mermelada de albaricoque, especias, caramelo, lúpulo. En boca es una conjunción magistral y perfectamente balanceada de una triple belga, jugosa, especiada, maltosa, frutal, con una amargamente lupulada american IPA. Un trabajo Genial de maestro cervecero, extremadamente disfrutable...Bravo

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2022 Das Musketeers Troubadour Magma ist bernsteinfarben opal und somit nicht so richtig 'pale'. Die mittelporige Schaumkrone ist sehr stabil. Der Geruch nach Orange dominiert, es sind aber noch weitere Früchte dabei, die ich aber nicht benennen nkann. Grund dafür ist vielleicht, dass das Malz auch präsent ist. Beim Antrunk deutliche Malznote mit süßem Karamell. Man ist tatsächlich an ein Tripel erinnert, obwohl das Bier hier als 'Imperial IPA' angegeben ist. Gleichzeitig gehen schon die Früchte los, was bei mir ein ziemliches Durcheinander bewirkt. Beim Abgang mehr Zitrusfrüchte und die nun unmaskierten 9% Alkohol. Ein wirklich außergewöhnliches Bier, wobei mir die Hopfen - Tripel - Kombination zu schaffen macht. Vermutlich ist eine weitere Verkostung nötig, um mich endgültig festzulegen. 03-2020

AROMA: medium-high estery aroma with notes of ripe oranges, pear-drop, slight peppery and perfumy alcohol. medium-low malty background with a sweet character. APPEARANCE: light amber color with fine particles in suspension. medium creamy ivory head with good retention. lace formation. TASTE: notes similar to the aroma but more subdued (medium-low esters like oranges, slight lemony). slight peppery phenols. slight notes of oxidized hops. medium-high bitterness. finishes dry with a slight bitter finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium body with medium-high carbonation. alcoholic warming sensation without being solventy. OVERALL: a Belgian IPA already without the hop components. demands retasting.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2022 zapach złożony, toffi, jasny karmel, spieczony biszkopt, truskawki, , czerwone kwaśne owoce, przyprawy, lekkie nuty skóry, słomy. całość dobrze złożona. kolor miedziany, klarowny, ale w toni pływają niewielkie drobiny. piana w kolorze złamanej bieli, obfita, drobna, stara się być trwała i koronkować. w smaku intensywne, pełne, dużo słodów, tostowych, karmelowych, spieczony chleb, masa suszonych ziół, wanilia, wiśnie, migdały, przyprawy, drewno, surowa skóra, końsa derka, w tle wytrawne cytrusy i żywice, do tego lekki alkohol ziołowy wpadający w fernet. goryczka wysoka, ziołowa, alkoholowa, skórzana. w ustach dość rześkie, pijalne, mimo rozgrzewania. nasycenie bardzo wysokie.

UPDATED: APR 2, 2022 Really impressive beer. Stands out for being an IPA combined with Belgian triple. Fruity but not annoyingly. Strong powerful taste but in a great way! Absolutely loving it!

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2021 Bottiglia. All'olfatto si esprimono sentori di sottobosco. L'intensità olfattiva è elevata e la maniera in cui permane è apprezzabile. Il mantello birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma dalla buona tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido è di consistenza limpida. Bollicine fini costituiscono la forma del perlage, con carbonazione persistente. Il colore è ramato. Il corpo è pieno. L'amaro è nella media. La forza gustativa è elevata e la persistenza è buona. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è intenso. In bocca l'aroma è quello di miele, cereali, agrumi, arancia, frutto della passione, frutta tropicale, vino Porto, vaniglia, resina, pino, mora e ananas. Alcol presente. La percezione alcolica non è esagerata.
