bottled, special
This beer is designed to challenge your preconceptions: it looks like a rich dark porter but tastes like a punchy IPA. This Black IPA uses Zeus hops from the Yakima valley and Ella hops from Australia. Think pine resins, citrus and tropical fruit aroma with a spicy bite. Close your eyes, take a sip and let your taste buds take over.

24th Jan 2015: shared bottle at the Cotteridge Wine meet. How big was Steve’s bag? He must have brought half of Ireland’s beer selection with him on the flight! Cheers mate, for yet another bottle from the Emerald Isle. Surprise, surprise, this Black IPA is in fact Black, the head a tanned beige affair. Loads going on in the aroma and flavour stakes: Piney, citrusy and dark fruity with an exotic spicy feel as an afterthought in the finish. Nice.
