IrishBoy	3.4 Sapporo Innovative Brewer Sorachi 1984 12oz can from the Hakodate train station market. Nose is herbal hoppy with a hint of melon. Gold with a white head. Flavor is lightly sweet with contrasting bitterness. Overall nicely hopped for a blonde ale. Wednesday, May 1, 2024
KyotoLefty	2.9 Sapporo Yebisu Creative Brew Juicy Ale Can. Rather weak nose of grapefruit, honey malts. Pale gold with a high, fine head. Flavor is bready malt, grapefruit, pithy bitterness. hawthorne00	2.8 Sapporo Sakura Beer 2020 Can. Orange amber with a dense cm+ of white head that never quite disappears. 3+ Rich bready aroma with hints of spices. Pretty much how it tastes - quite malty but only modestly sweet, Clean with pretty low bitterness. Plain but OK. Sunday, April 28, 2024
maekchu	3.3 Sapporo Yebisu Creative Brew Hop Drip Can. Clear gold color with a fat fluffy white head. Fruity and floral (noble) aroma, but primarily it shows typical Yebisu character. Pleasant malty opening, some spicy and herbal hops, and then a sort of metallic finish. This is this first time they have used dry hopping (which is what they mean by "drip hop"), but there isn't really a noticeable increase in hop aroma as compared to the regular Yebisu. medkung	2.3 Sapporo Yebisu Draught version This one you can see around supermarket to convenience stores around Japan and I tried this one in Singapore and then try draught version in Japan. It’s nearly clean body, smooth foam, low to medium sweet, nothing harsh or weird. KyotoLefty	3.2 Sapporo Yebisu Creative Brew Citrus Blanc Can. Thought it was a Wit from the name. Citrus and wheat nose. Not over the top with the additives, nicely malty, smells more like their wheat lager than a Witbier. Just a hint of lemon grass. Clear gold with a low head. Looks like regular Yebisu. More lemon and herbs in the flavor, nice wheat malt, spicy hop finish. Not at all a Wit. Not sure but seems like a lager fermentation. Not particularly striking, but highly drinkable. maekchu	3.5 Sapporo Beer Surprise Koku no Shinzui (2023) Can from Family Mart. Dark amber color, with a fluffy off-white head. Roat malt nose, with some floral and cake flour notes, something like powdered sugar -- rich and pleasant. Roasty flavor, with some dark fruit, Sweetness throughout, apple sauce with herbs. Much more body and bitterness than most macro beers and also than most beer in this fun series from Sapporo. Very flavorful.
