Tyranena BGW Fiesta Margarita
12oz bottle from Woodman's in Madison with a bottle date of 6 months ago, shared with Gorjusgirl. Very pale pour with little head. Aroma has pale malts, sour wheat, agave, light barrel, and sea salt. Light and tangy. Taste is better, with bigger tequila barrel presence. A light tequila gose, if squinting. Tasty, in that tangy way. 13.6

Of all things, this is very chocolaty. Hmmm. That makes this about as sweet as an amber as I've encountered.

12oz bottle(s) from Woodmans in Waukesha. Orange pour with a bit of an off-orange head. Aroma has sweet and tangy fruits, peaches, light grain, and pale malts. Taste is of sweet and tangy fruits, peaches, and pale malts. Not much sign of a gose here. Really nice peaches supplying a tart, yet sweet, finish. About medium bodied, the blend is good. 13.8

Tyranena BGW Opposite Day
12oz bottle. Big aroma with a lot going on: vanilla, coffee, whiskey, cacao syrup. Tastes nothing like a stout, but capture the White Stout style pretty well. Probably one of the more enjoyable examples I've had. Nonetheless, the unfermentables get a little boring and sweet after awhile, not a lot of malt depth, just a lot of flavoring. OK.

Bottle thanks to Drake! Now, I have some pre-conceived notions about "white" stouts that I'll try to ignore... Pours hazy orange with a small head. Nose is booze, barrel, corn/grain nose. Flavor is booze, some sort of weird fruitiness, barrel. Hint of chocolate only in the end. Not loving this, but glad to have tried it.

Tyranena Rocky's Revenge Bourbon Brown
Probably from the Binny’s in Evanston. Brown with a creamy, beige head. Aroma of toast, hazelnut, chocolate. Taste is mildly bitter. Finishes earthy, very earthy, and full of oak with a lingering mix of bourbon and pronounced vanilla, so pronounced I’m thinking it must have been added, although it’s nowhere near cloying. Medium bodied with a slight wateriness, mild carbonation. Nice take on the style without the usual heaviness and booze.

Tyranena Rocky's Revenge Bourbon Brown
Beer #3 (of 19) of my 9000th Beer Celebration [9 beers on both sides of #9000th itself]. Deep dark brown coloured body with slight clear glow on the side of just plain cola with a thinnish, very fast-dying off-white head that starts off at actually around three centimetres tall and fades to just about nothing a few seconds/minute later. Aroma of alcohol, bourbon, scotch, oak, burnt grains, cedar and a good deal of roasted malts, but only a small amount of sugars and of course nothing in terms of hops or soft qualities - this is strong and pungent in the nose at least. Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence; Super strong vanilla, cream, lactose and cream soda flavours show up front with a lot of malts, but even more residual alcohol and sugars with a ton of the creamy, vanilla-y notes right behind and a deep rich bite from the malts, but also from the sugar. Aftertaste shows a nice sweet and pungent bourbon and whiskey scent with a good deal of butterscotch and strong bitterness from the oak and cedar notes with a lot of sweetness and residual sugars showing through as well, with a deep profile. Overall, a strong and pungent, especially in the early tastes and nose, beer with a lot of earthiness, grain, flowers and hay, but more of the oak, cedar and especially bourbon flavours that drive this one and make it deep, but not too overwhelming, but still tastes like more alcohol than ~7.0 per cent abv. I sampled this stubby, twelve ounce bottle, purchased from the Edelweiss Shop in Verona, Wisconsin on 24-September-2014 for US$3,00 by my Mom - thanks Mom for bringing this back with you, sampled a few weeks after returning from Madison as well, at my house here in Washington on 08-September-2021, sampled at my house here in Washington for Beer #3 (of 19) of my 9000th beer celebration [9 beers on both sides of #9000th itself].

Tyranena Imperial Saison - Port Wine Barrel Aged
12oz bottle from Rays in Tosa as "Rooster Season". Has to be the same recipe - how many imperial saisons are they aging in port wine barrels? Bottle date of 5 weeks ago. Pours a fairly clear dark orange copper with a bit of an off-white head. Aroma has sweet malts, spicy yeast, some banana, some butter, some clove, and sweet wine. Taste is of sweet malts, sweet wine, tangy spicy yeast, plums, and herbs. Somewhat between a Belgian strong and a farmhouse, with the interesting sweet wine component. Finishes tangy sweet. Interesting. 13.4

Tyranena BGW The Kissers Monday Night Special Bourbon BA Double Oatmeal Stout
12oz bottle courtesy of Headbanger poured into a Snifter. Color is black with mellow carbonation and a small tight tan head. Aroma is sweet and roasted with oak and bourbon notes. It has a full body with a smooth mouthfeel. Flavor comes in roasted with subtle toffee and just a hint of cocoa. Aftertaste comes in slightly sharp as the whisky shows with a bit of alcohol. Overall this is a good brew, not as bold as some Imperial Stout but still good.

Color is a solid hazy yellow with mellow carbonation and a thin head. Aroma is a bold fresh hop scent. Body is medium with a crisp mouthfeel. Flavor is light malt back by a bold hop bitterness and fruity hop flavor. Aftertaste is dry with the hop bitterness lingering on with some of the fruit. Overall it's a good IPA but something seems a little unbalanced in the hop blend.

Tyranena BGW Wrath of Rocky
Pours a deep reddish brown. Smells like a beer aged in bourbon casks alright. Taste has a great bourbon presence to it, but without any alcohol burn or being boozy imo. Breaking that bourbon flavor down there is vanilla, oak, and sweet caramel. Mid-to-full body. Really well balanced for a BBA beer. I’ll be sure to buy this every year or so when released!

Mostly rather a mess. “Double maple Stout aged in bourbon barrels with coffee beans”. Not much coffee, much maple, not much bourbon, not much barrel. Not much reason to drink it. (And normally I love Bourbon barrel stout’s.)

On tap at Champps in Brookfield. Almost black pour with a bit of a tan head. Aroma hits with big roast and espresso - huge coffee lead. Then there is sweet caramelly malt and vanilla. Leaning bitter. Taste is of sweet malts, caramel, espresso, sweet maple, some molasses, and some vanilla. Leaning sweet, but only slightly. Well done how the barrel & the maple are an adjunct components instead of running to the lead. Medium to full bodied, with little alcohol presence, the blend is very good. Finishes well blended between bitter and sweet. Another strong example of the quality of Tyranena. The blend is very good, and this is very tasty. 16.2
