[Wood Aging] Chêne Américain
American white oak imparts flavors that are more earthy, classic “oaky” and smoky. Bourbon must be aged in new charred American oak barrels and later the used bourbon barrels are used to age vast varieties of scotch, whiskey and other spirits. American oak imparts vanilla and coconut notes and gives mellow, caramel, vanilla and soft effects on taste. American Oak barrels are usually charred inside and are commonly used for spirit aging first.
