NatioNole champs. Boom. Goodnight everyone.

Congratulations. I thought Auburn had them there at the end. Good for Jimbo. Love me some Jimbo. WVU was only about 30 minutes away from hiring him away from Florida State when Coach Rod left... then FSU jumped in real quick and threw a boatload of cash his way and named him the head-coach-in-waiting and told him that the season after next was Bobby Bowden’s last. We couldn’t match that. He’s still a WV boy.

6 B1G Teams in Top 15. Though Eric doesn’t believe it.. ’Dat B1G Money.

Untrue. I simply continue to point out that sport writers, numbers-crunchers and bloggers disagree with your assertion that Big Ten members get $28+ million per year in television/radio revenue. I’m not arguing, simply pointing out a fact.

Overall annual revenue is an entirely different discussion. Actually, there is nothing to discuss there either. Numbers don’t lie. I’ll leave all that up to the accountants and bean-counters and just shoot links your way whenever the subject comes up.

I haven’t read the article yet, but estimated worth of a football program on the open market is an entertaining read, but fictitious. It’s simply one man’s estimate and sometimes more an opinion than anything else.

Important to note here. I really don’t care how much money WVU brings in each year. I get none of it. Instead, I contribute to the Mountaineer Athletic Fund with the hope that I’m helping provide nice facilities and good food, coaches and tutors for our athletes. In doing this, I simply hope WVU puts a competitive product on the football field and the basketball court. I’m simply paying a little extra to be better entertained.

In the end, nothing matters other than pride and bragging rights associated with a winning team or the embarrassment/humiliation of a losing season.

Either way, recruiting and revenue don’t really matter unless you have more wins than losses.

... and I was embarrassed for him at the Heisman presentation. Even worse after the NCS game.

It’s always weird to me how dumb jocks can be so brilliant on the field. Amazing really.

About the revenue rankings: It seems to reflect the more-or-less current state of conference media deals. Big 12 just did theirs. SEC Network starts this year, right?

The way these media contracts go, and for how much they’re worth, I’m not sure there will ever be a perfect apples-to-apples comparison.

B1G is the last one to go for quite some time..of ALL sports media contracts, I believe.. should be mammoth..

But yeah, in regards to speaking and the education level of some college athletes.. that CNN article is a good read. Highly recommend it.
