Looks like we’ll be in the top 1500 in a few hours. At this rate possibly even the top 1000 in late January. |
We re folding at an impressive rate right now, as a group. Adding more computers would be good to bump those #s. |
Originally posted by TheHOFF43 I’m hopefully putting together a few computers in the next few weeks from parts scrounged from family and friends. I’ll be throwing a few video cards in, so ideally, at least one will be capable of 10k PPD. |
We are putting up some real nice pts. Hoping to buy a new computer (apple desktop thing) in February so that would fold 24/7 at my house. |
Watch out for the University of Alabama Libraries, they’re going to catch us in 1.7 years. |
I’m having trouble running it on a Macbook I have lying around. In the log, I keep getting the error: Failed to get assignment from ’assign4.stanford.edu:80’ : Empty work server assignment. |
Tomorrow night, I’m making the 200 mile trip to my brother’s house to scrounge his computer parts, which he’s donating/ I’ve got a 650ti video card on hand, and got a buddy of mine to donate a second, and two 660ti cards to the team. |
Y’all are crazy |
For some reason, not getting any FahCore 17 WUs today. The WU lottery is tossing me chump change, bros. |
Originally posted by sethdude There’s a way you can request larger work units. I dont have the link handy but it involves having a key and not having dropped more than some small percentage of work units (like 10%). Not sure if it’s something you have to sign up for or if you just plug in the code somewhere and their servers validate that you really should be getting extra large work units. From what I read the reason for it is that the multipliers (for finishing quicker) go a lot higher for those units. |
