Whatever they are, I’m impressed. Very impressed.

Screw that, I’m impressed by this:

I am trekking across the USA for 6 months drinking beer, so my home systems will be on full folding duty.

Our team has performed admirably, definitely advancing quickly still and top 1000 is pretty cool. We aren’t there yet, but we will be. Were up to 41 machines, some just starting out and some very impressive members (sethdude and ferris really killing it, along with gothgargoyle over 1.2 million).

I’ll be hitting 200k soon, which I’m happy with considering I’m just running a simple laptop at work

I wish Folding would use more of my processing power. Only hovers around 650% (out of 800% total CPU available) Each core = 100% for some strange reason.

Try closing programs in your systems tray that you aren’t actively using.

Sadly, i can’t do that. Notifyd, Kernel_task are system tasks. My system will log off if I force close them. everything else is going to Folding @ home.

I’ve noticed that I’m being assigned to Project 8018 almost exclusively for the past few weeks. Which is great, because it’s important science, but sucks, because the WUs and subsequent PPD are smaller than other projects.

Which brings me to this point- more than points or team status, the most important part of our team’s work is the science that comes from our contribution. And to that end, putting my competitiveness aside, I think we are doing a very, very good job!

I just want to remind people that they don’t have to have a big, powerful computer to help out. My home desktop isn’t on all the time. When it is, it is running Folding in the background. I’ve made a slow but steady contribution.

this is a really good point. Even running your computer a few hours a day can help!
