UPDATED: MAR 11, 2021 Bottle shared at Chris and Ruth Pre-GBBF 2017 tasting - London. Cheers! Pours deep brown with a foamy, khaki head. The nose holds light roast, soft chocolate, earth, brown bread. Medium sweet flavour with light metal notes, earth, leathery berries. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Warming finish, lightly sticky, some cocoa, milk chocolate too. Nice overall.

Bottle taken away from BrewDog Leicester and drunk at home. Very dark brown, almost opaque, with a bit of creamy khaki head. Coffee, some plum, chocolate milk, some charcoal in the aroma. Sweet taste with a heavy plummy flavour. Also a bit heavy on the booze, which is surprising for 8%. Some bitterness - a bit harsher than I'd prefer - in the finish. Smooth body with medium carbonation. Brandied plum and mochaccino in the aftertaste. Pretty good.

Bottle. Pours clear chestnut brown with a small creamy beige film head. Aroma has licorice, roasted malts, chocolate. Medium carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has sweet malts, chocolate and, firm bitterness, well roasted, quite elegant. Good, lingering bitterness to balance.

Piana niewielka jako krążek pozostaje do końca. Kolor czarny z rubinowymi prześwitami pod światło. Aromat średnio intensywny przyjemny, czekolada, słody palone, lukrecja, lekko suszone owoce, rodzynki śliwka. Smak tu smaki bardziej wyraźne, czekolada, kawa, palonosc, lukrecja, suszone owoce. Piwo pełne ciała, umiarkowanie słodkie, smaki intensywne, grają. Bardzo Dobre

22floz bottle, dated 07.09.2017 (unknown if BBD or BOD), $5, pint glass. Dark brown, with little head, a molasses aroma, oily full body of the same, but roasted and finishes a little smoky. Oh so very so-so.

Bottle split at Chris & Ruths pre GBBF Shin Dig, cheers for all the shares, 05/08/17. Black with a decent tan cap. Nose is roast malt, chocolate, liquorice, light spice. Taste comprises toffee fudge, light charr, roasted bite, faint coffee grinds, brown bread, chocolate biscuit. Medium bodied plus, fine carbonation, drying close with a roasted schmack. Average boosty porter ... lacks depth for the ABV.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a bubbly white head. The aroma is dry malt rich raisin, red berry fruit, light molasses. The flavour is moderate to light sweet with a smooth rich, oily, liqourice, light warm alcohol bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

August 2017 - Bottle share at Chriso's Pre-GBBF Shindiggery. As 'SKA Nefarious Ten Pin Imperial Porter', 8%, wax top. This is one of those beers I've seen around in bombers for £10 and could never quite find the motivation to buy - thanks to Kenny for pulling the trigger. Dark brown with an orange hue, foamy brown head, dotted lacing. Aroma is dark biscuits, cookie and bourbon biscuit. Body is frothy with soft carbonation. Taste is toffee, bourbon biscuits with a cardboard-ish finish. OK stuff – drinks like it has a lower ABV. Doesn't deliver as much flavour as you'd expect. (6-4-6-3-14=3.3)
