Beese (17343) - Tooting, London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 18, 2020UPDATED: FEB 18, 2020 Cask at Blind Tiger, New York on 04/04/2008. OMG; this would be talked about always (or at least for the rest of the trip). An astounding stout and it worked so well on cask. Immensely smooth and silky, with a wonderful body. The roastiness just wafting off and so much cocoa, light molasses, big malt and burnt notes. Probably my favourite beer from the entire time I was in the US.

In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, molasses, plums, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with resinous floral hops, dark fruits, molasses, light peated notes, very nice. 5 year old bottle, still solid.

Jabah (2555) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - MAR 13, 2019UPDATED: MAR 13, 2019 First introduction to Green Flash, and now a fan. Reminded me of the newer Guinness Foreign Stout, but a cleaner/better quality representation. Black appearance with a dark mocha head. Creamy texture. Rich chocolate flavor with near-perfect hop balance. Barely notice the 8.8% ABV. I want to try their Red Ale first, but I am sure I'll be getting this again.
Mr.Spooks (4981) - Tennessee, USA - SEP 27, 2017Very nice stout, big and rich and roasty, hitting all the indulgent impy stout notes without growing cloy or overbearing. Malts offer up milk chocolate, coffee, and hints of molasses and anise, while the hops dry out the back end, adding a needed dark-roast bitterness backed up by pine and unsweetened cocoa powder. Finishes with a touch of boozy warmth, while the fade refuses to lean sweet. Pretty black-brown pour with a modest beige head and some lacing. Glorious mocha nose. Texture's good but the slightest bit abrasive. Delicious.
Bacchus66 (2143) - South Carolina, USA - AUG 6, 201712oz bottle @ home. Very dark brown with reddish edges. Nose is dark roast coffee and bourbon barrels. Flavors are burnt roast malt, coffee, dark chocolate, toffee, chicory. Full bodied. The long finish is first roasty, then bitter espresso, then bitter chocolate. Appropriate alcohol. Really nice.
