4.3 Liverpool Organic Kitty Wilkinson Sampled a 1/3 pint at the Glasgow Beer Festival held in the Briggait, Glasgow on the 16th June 2022. Cask, gravity dispense. Pours a dull black with a thin creamy buff head. Smooth malty aroma with sweet notes of rich treacle fudge. Superb creamy mouthfeel and excellent lacing. Dark malts gives vast complexity considering the low ABV!! Moist maltloaf base with dark chocolate, creamy vanilla, lactose, sweet treacle fudge full in the mouth. For balance there is a light earthy hop bitterness with grain notes of oats and barley in the brief bitter aftertaste. Finish is smooth, rich and malty with dark Belgian chocolate truffles, treacle fudge and creamy lactose, vanilla pod. Cannot believe this Stout is only 4.5%? for complexity and body it tastes more like it's in the 7-8% ABV range. An excellent session Stout and highly recommended to obtain this on Cask - what would an Imperial Pastry Stout version taste like? This was beer of the festival for me at the Briggait.
