I was drunk last night and I meant everything I said! Listen I just had Hill Farmstead E. Not my favorite. Now I went out on a huge limb and said that ephraim was just too darn bitter and so was this.

TGIF!. Today I have my last beer form Hill Farmstead. E. This beer has a mellow smoothness from the aging in oak, a prominent woody flavor and one heck of a sharp hop bitter in the finish. The fruit flavors were also mellowed in the drink but luckily it still had some juicy tartness. Bone dry. I think the bitter does eclipse the fruitiness and the pepper in the finish. Some orange peeks out as it warms but it’s mostly lemony. It’s good but my favorite is Edward.

Goose Island Lolita. I keep my cellared beers in different places..lost track of this bottle. I’m glad I found it, it is drinking great!

My wife and I are splitting a bottle of Alesmith Vietnamese Speedway. Good stuff.

Grassroots and Mikkeller Wheat is the new Hops - easily the best beer you will ever drink. I have not had any other mikkeller beer before.

Then - artic soiree and the collaboration between grassroots or hIll farmstead and anchorage brewing.

Am I the only perosn who likes the collaborations better than the actual HF offerings? Don’t get me wrong double simoce is one fo the most memorable beers I have ever had but shaun hill seems to ignore some ideas concerning the palate when it comes to the necessity of malt presence and when it comes to the overabundance of hop bitterness. ( DUCK! INcomming! I am not afraid of you =)

So my last beer of the day is oaskhire watershed IPa and for an IPA it’s peppery. I liek that. It’s not great but is’ unique and so that matters.
